  1. Just that, lose the cat! It's likely to get plugged up eventually dealing with a rich A/F ratio, eh. Doesn't have to be a full system, think there are several muffler upgrades that the delete the cat. It's a heavy sumbitch anyways...
  2. have around 3k miles on Ivan's flash- I've lost an average of 2 mpg , running a Graves exhaust- could be a happier wrist; however, I had the bike run on a Dyno, pretty fat fuel curve in the lower RPMs...beware the clogging Cat...
  3. It's a bold thrust for the MoCo. Looks great on paper and in the marketing vids; supposedly, test riders have expressed some love for the powerband and ergs. I wish HD well; however, their QC on assembly lines can really go to shite; M8 rollout was a freaking joke with the wrong oil pumps going in the wrong bikes; rings that didn't seat and bottom ends out of tolerance from mile one ( I have friends whom had all these and more issues with their brand new $25k plus bikes). Remains to be seen if HD has learned and can produce reliable bikes in the first few generations of a new design. The other thing that bothers me about the PA is an Aluminium gas tank and magnesium hard external parts. One whoopsy in the driveway could be real expensive..... engine gaurd would be a must have before leaving the Dealership.
  4. Guess I'm joining the recall club, got the mailer. 12k on my bike and never noticed any issue; however, I rarely use the cruise unless I'm on a multi-day trip with mucho Superslab ( damn, car in the shop and about to start major project on the Dyna :>(
  5. Only sad old men with nothing better to do on a Saturday night but attempt puerile underhanded brags regarding the potency of their machines, Coop 😂
  6. It ain't right: in B mode with TC 2 my bike will pull a mild power wheelie. Been raining here so i pussed out and set her on B &TC 2. Went to the dispensary- got a Med card,eh. Bloody hell everyone can go now- wonderful, but they being all tight arsed about it, only existing Med dispensaries getting to sell retail. Hella line, so I was pissed when I left and cracked the throttle some, lofted the front about 6". That ain't right when the bike's in wheenie mode.
  7. I get what your saying, motorcycling is among the best "drugs" one can imbibe. Did sound a bit like you might have stumbled across a particularly potent patch of Psilocybin mushrooms whilst out riding🤠
  8. I appreciate the work mods do on these forums; with the caveat that some forums are excessively moderated ( not this one, but there was a Versys 300X forum I was on that was way over the top, virtually had to adopt the "party line" and no humour was "good" humour or else!) It's a sensitive time right now, to be sure. I totally support the freedom of speech and expression that is a hallmark of our "united" republic; notwithstanding that this essential ideal does not apply to private enterprises, like this great forum. Also, IMHO, humour is sacred, and possibly among the most important aspects of free speech. People need to be mature enough to laugh at themselves sometimes!
  9. well the tires are new and a different brand; suspension up front is Andreani carts and ohlin shock in the rear. Suspensions settings and/or tire pressure could contribute for sure. Anyways, glad the post is generating discussion. I prefer the bike without the beak; each to their own,eh
  10. @lospsiyeah, I wanted to make sure plenty of air was gettin' to the intake,eh. Seems unlikely, given the myriad gaps in the stock front end
  11. ....on lightwieght, easily affected motorcycles, like our FJ/Tracers. Put one on my Tracer around 5K miles back. I had a vague impression of some slight change in how the bike felt at triple digits right away; nonetheless, being enamoured at the way the Bill/Beak filled in the empty space in the front end while giving her an "Adventure Bikey" look, I ignored it. Around the same time the bike got new rubber. And then I lost a wheel weight up front. And all of sudden, the bike had a pronounced bounciness in the frontend at triple digits- very noticable, but didn't effect the handling per se. So I just put up with it. It's not like I constantly blast around at those speed, after all. But then it was time for new rubber again. Ah, I thought, the wheel will be properly re-balanced, the bothersome bounciness wil cease. Except it didn't. It was better, but still there. My thoughts returned to the Beaky Bill. Finally getting off my dead arse, I removed it and took the bike out. I flogged her hard, multiple triple digit runs on tarmac of varying quality, getting up to an indicated 120 several times. Well, hmm, instead of a bounciness, now there is a chatter that comes on right about the triple digit mark. Again it doesn't really effect the handling, there is no head shake kind feel to it. Very much confined to a vertcal sensation. Overall, the bike feels smoother, "cleaner" , you could say, at high speed now sans the Beaky Bill. It's subtle, but quite noticable to me. However, the front wheel does not feel as planted when heeled over in a triple digit sweeper. I surmise that at those speeds, the Beaky Bill is exerting some degree of down pressure on the front end that is most noticable when the bike is heeled over. Just as it apparently negatively impacts some aspects of the already rather poor ( "dirty") high speed aerodynamics of the bike when traveling in a relatively straight line. Of course, this may not be relevant for many riders who rarley exceed 80MPH. Afer all, many good folks here run Top Cases without complaint. Sensitive Little Fuk that I am ( just ask my girlfriends) a Top Case would bug the hell outta me. I suspect that my front wheel is slightly screwed and that is the root cause of what is now a chatter, rather than a bounce with a new tire supposedly properly balanced but no Beaky Bill. Looks be damned, no more Beaky Bill for me.
  12. Yep. That's what trailers do when ya ain't pullin 'em,eh: sit around using up space. Not my neighborhood though, that's up there in Idaho
  13. I towed from Hayden,Id to Phoenix, around 1400 miles, at speeds up 80+. The first couple hundered miles there were several times I was concerned going thru the mountains in Montanna. The bike would shift a bit in the cradle. However, it was self correcting. I never ended up even needing to adjust or retighten any of the straps. Home - MOTOW Stainless Steel Hitch Mounts For Cars, Trucks, RVs Tow up to 600 lb... Uh no,lol. It will eliminate any chance of damaging your drivetrain, however.
  14. Ivan built his flash for the Tracer on a bike running a full Akro pipe........
  15. might be the wheel; seems unlikely 2 different brands of tires would do the same thing,eh. The beaky bill is slighlty flexible, was thinking it might be flexing at speed causing the bounce. Guess I'll pull it and lay the question to rest.
  16. To everyone else who has beaked( or billed) their bike: you noticing a little "bounce" or "hop" in your front end at speeds over 100mph? I have since installing, thought maybe my front wheel was slightly out of balance; however, just got new tires on and "bounce" is still there. Thinking it might be the beak ( or bill).
  17. I've had several types of riding foot gear, with the exception of any kind of Harley branded junk or any type of zip up boot ( No thank you, back when I started riding again after a lengthy hiatus, spent time looking at Motorcycle accident photos just to remind myself of the realities involved. Often enough you'd see a boot empty of foot- typically a cowboy boot- dude, they are designed to come off the foot if caught in a stirup- or a zip-up type, or a frickin tennie for the luv of God. Best photo I ever saw was of some dude on a supermoto in a Euro setting: pulled high speed wheelie, front wheel came down on edge of curb, launched his arse airborne sideways, at which angle he encountered a cement pillar. Tore him in half, graphic pic of gut pile, torso, legs sans pants, etc.) Ended up riding in Georgia Giants Low Heel Loggers on my HD; good boots although a little hot. Don't work too well on the Tracer. Finally foiund these Forma Low Adventure Boots. Man, these puppies are the cat's meow. Beefy, comfortable, waterproof and my feet have yet to sweat in them even at 100+ temps. Forma Adventure Low Boots Forma Adventure Boots too tall? This low, large calf friendly, version offers...
  18. Those new wheels are a big question mark,IMO. Seem mighty thin, wondering how well they'll hold up to some major pothole interaction.... ( yeah I know: don't hit the potholes- but in the real world shite happens)
  19. meh on the looks; not that my 2019 or the 2020 are great works of motorcycle art appereance wise. The quick shifter sounds nice, as for the rest, would have to ride one to see if the other upgrades made that much of an impact. Gonna just keep on being happy with what I got for now
  20. Oh Coop, I was thinking White Walls to go with a Candy stripe paint job for the Holiday Season
  21. Bobbed, Billed ( it's certainly more of a bill, rather than a beak,eh) and hiding out in North Idaho...
  22. @Coop: try some of these to fix up the back tire🤪
