  1. Where abouts in the country are you located. ???? I am in the riverina, NSW. Even with the Covid lockdown, we still have some good riding around the area.
  2. Thanks mate. I removed the spacers that came with the kit; however, I found that it seemed to place a lot of tension on the rear attachment points, to where I thought it may crack, particularly with road vibration, so I have refitted the spacers to reduce this tension. The beak is purely for cosmetics, but it does make the bike look finished now.
  3. Beak on today. Ebay special for $32.99 AUD, fitment was pretty easy, just had to elongate the two holes for the screws. so it would line up with the current screw holes just below the headlight.
  4. Thankyou both. Throttle wide open whilst cranking it, manage to get it going after half a dozen attempts. a quick 50kms to blow out any crap, things seem to be all good now. Cheers.
  5. @jdavis i went to start my bike and it started for a brief moment then stopped, now it is just cranking but will not fire. I can hear the fuel pump working and my battery has been tested and is fine. I can smell fuel and to me it is like when a bike is flooded. Bike is around 2.5 years old, with 26K on it. (2017 Tracer) As it is nearly a 500km round trip to get to the local Yamaha dealership, I have contacted the service centre by phone and they recommended that I check / replace my spark plugs. Any other ideas where to look? Cheers Dobbo.
  6. Hi all, Has anyone here 'Adventurised' their tracer for travelling down the dirt roads here in Oz? I have found a few threads about guys doing this overseas, but nothing Oz related. I was thinking of selling the Tracer and going for a Yamaha T7, but I just love the 3 cylinder motor and wish Yamaha would bring out an off-road model. So, I am thinking of adding 50/50 tyres, maybe trying for a 19" front wheel, raising the guards, fitting under belly protection then hitting the dirt roads. I don't need to tackle anything more than dirt roads, as I have an Enduro race bike in the garage for that type of riding.
  7. I have owned this Tracer for over 2 years now, have done nothing of great interest to it, other than a protective screen for the radiator. I have been riding for a long while now, and have a small collection of bikes. Having a strong dirt bike background, I find the Tracer very familiar with it's ergonomics and upright riding position. My other road bike is the Yamaha XJR1300, so it's Chalk and Cheese, between both these bikes, but I just love riding any bike. I live in regional NSW and spend most of my days riding in the Snowies or the Vic high country, although this time of year, I will head further West along the Murray River. Here's a pic of my bike, hand guards have been removed since I took this photo, up at Blowering Dam near Tumut.
  8. Hi everyone, I have a 2017 MT09 Tracer and live down under in Australia. I have been riding bikes for over 40+ years now. I have owned my Tracer for over two years now, and have found it an exciting bike to ride. Cheers Dobbo
  9. Thanks mate, I have got those ones, nice and weighty, but the seller sent the wrong size threaded adapters with them, so I am awaiting the correct threaded inserts to be delivered. Also, fitting a back rest rack, or perhaps it's called a sissy bar, which my son is welding up for me, just so I have something to tie my swag to when I get out for a few days, and also, my wife feels a little safer knowing that there is something behind her. I have had the Tracer for a couple of years now, and have about 25k kms on it. Just deciding if my next ride is across to Perth or up to Darwin?, I have a couple of weeks free at the end of August, so i might just head off and just wing it.
  10. Hi all, I have a 2017 Tracer and have just removed the hand guards, as the bars are already threaded I am hoping that I can just screw some bar end weights straight on; However, if that is not possible, how can I remove the stock threaded inserts from within the bar ends?? Thanks Dobbo
