  1. Did a 300km ride yesterday, mainly on highway, had breakfast and back. at one point of time, clear flat highway,  rev to 200kmh (124mph) for a few seconds (yes, am not the super fast guy). my bike are all stock. my average ride is 140kmh (86mph) but just want to feel how fast it can go... i guess it stops there, not sure what is the max speed a stock Tracer Gt can run. from youtube think was 225kmh ?

  2. A good Read review. same colour as mine. What was your height and weight if dont mind sharing, as you pointed out " Tracer's suspension was excellent" which many here found its towards the soft side. i myself is super light weight, hence its so far so good, still curios to try a Tracer with Ohlins/K-tech before i splurge my money on it.

  3. took my 1,200km mileage Tracer GT to Yamaha HQ svc center.... highlight extract from Forum it could be a sensor cleaning, but than its a brand new bike !!! was than told, not sure if its true or globally is as such, there is a cut off gear where from 6 or 5th down to say 3rd,2nd , the speed must not be lower than 40km/h (24.8mph), IF i could remember, will take note to drop gear before 40kmh but often forgot and notice even below 40kmh from 3rd or 2nd to 1st, indicator will go blank and will not engage, now got use to it to just release clutch a bit and press back to go to 1st or neutral.

  4. Now looking at helmet, target ls2 vortex carbon or all the way Neotec 2 or agv modular(double ring which I dun really like), for won’t go wrong it wud be neotec 2 . Reading review best site is champion helmet, it shows the decibel etc which is more reality than just say quite, bit noisy, very noisy and some review with ear plug which guess any helmet with ear plug is good in terms of noise review.

    still deciding.....

  5. Congrats and your cross over to the dark/bright side!!

Used to be curious why all pointed to GS , in my country, it’s more of a lavish lifestyle when one owns a GS over practicality. Met a couple of GS whom cross over to other bikes on the reason, Asian size are smaller and many times when riding straight/twisties highway no issues, when it comes to emergency or unravel road, the bikes is too large to handle. hence local bmw use to organised lesson to deal with their bikes.

compare with spare parts and my income level, will stick to japs.

  6. Ordered the quad lock 2 days ago with dampers as existing one took my iPhone to hospital for rear eye surgery. Have also ask ram mount how they deal with vibration and replied I got was from the mounting ball.... have checked on Rockform where nothing sells on vibration dampers, hence can’t afford another eye surgery, go with quad lock whom I was sold based on that additional damper, hopefully my phone will last.

  7. Was towing on changing/upgrade the exhaust or shocks/suspension which i think changing shock first will give me happier face over the sound and bit of HP increase as both are similar price.

notice, at least from my country, Ohlins price is just slightly more/similar to K-Tech/Nitron and a few well known brand, even YSS high end is close to Ohlins price, hence Ohlins it is !

Have narrow down to YA 223 (YA 537 might exceeded my budget),  has anyone use YA 223 and one noob questions, do we get to choose the spring or it comes as standard Ohlins spring. coz my weight is around 65 kgs (143 lb), afraid the standard will give me a hard ride.

For Front, will maybe go for a cheaper alternative as Ohlins front will set me back another USD900-950 ( FKS504).

    cheers.

Here is another option.  I bought these for lower engine crash protection and like them alot, as a bonus I can stretch out my legs a bit and rest my feet flat on the bar going forward like a floor board, there is even enough room on the forward bobbin to extend my legs and rest my heels.

    s-l400.jpg

They are simple to install and rely largely upon the existing mounting points...

Now why I did not think of that, minimalist crash bar and used back my r&g slider... tks Betoney for sharing, will visit my custom made bar one of these days.

    Hey everyone,

picked up a 2015 FJ09 about a month ago, already logged ~1200 miles. I’m new to this, having only ridden my dad’s 2007 Vulcan 900 maybe 5 times putting in well under a hundred miles total.

I’ll tell you, I really like this bike, it suits me well. I can go long distances easy (5 hours max so far) with the comfort saddle, and also get my adrenaline fix whenever I’m in the mood.

so far I’ve adjusted the suspension preload and rebound, and adjusted the APS. Glad to be a part of the community.

Welcome to the Forum.... indeed its a goto almost anywhere bike.

  10. Here is a clearer pictures as that day was taken during night, after installation. yet to try it out, tmw weekend will go for ride and have my wife to tag along and get feedback. basically can get any of backseat aftermarket, as long as the holes fit. asto mine, the screw diameter is a bit large, hence i did a little bit of filing the bracket hole larger to fit in the screw.

  11. i have resist installing panniers box (here does not comes with it) and top box as aftermarket so far, even trying to find el chepo from china.

    1. Bracket is more expensive than the box/pannier (small pannier), what gives,

    2. not badass (like tktplz describe) especially aftermarket bracket, without the pannier, it looks like a rear crash bar with metal all over.

    3. when installing, there is a HUGE GAP in between as compare to ori, making city riding unable to squeeze in between cars.

    4. why cant aftermarket design to hook to existing bracket and maybe the outer layer change to some other badass design.

I have the Puig sport screen and Madstad touring screen. It's a one beer  job to switch them around.

If I had to pick one it would be the Madstad with all its adjustability.  However the bike looks way better with the short screen .

roadwarrior.... how is the puig sport screen, (think model 9724H), as am getting damm hot on the OEM and puig touring. if may share, how different is between having no shield and the puig sport screen (for the looks or is there some techno wind thingy). might need to dispose of the puig touring in replacement of these shorter one. should i need a longer, will just use back the ori.

  13. waited for F900XR and finally it came, busy youtube with these bikes, no offered as it just arrived. look at Tracer, USD3,700 cheaper over F900XR and compared with the cost of spare parts, service and excitement, put my money on a Tracer GT and here am I in Tracer forum, no regrets of not getting F900XR.  whereas in many countries, you have MT-10SP , while here, the highest spec yammy bike is the Tracer.

next bike in a FEW YEARS after Tracer likely be Vulcan 900
