I run very consistently 5.2l/100km, so around 45mph reported.  Probably a little less; I'd assume 42-43mpg which aligns with a lot of other posts here.  I ride like an utter asshole most of the time, but admittedly I tend to do predominately highway miles - there's no stop and go traffic for me, so despite always accelerating very hard, the majority of my riding is done at constant speed.

With that said, I'm able to ride and keep it in the 4.5l/100km range if I just accelerate like a car and do the speed limit, I just don't want to. I've had it as low as 4.2l/100km reported when experimenting with hypermiling for lols.  I don't doubt @Rick123, with the right habits and riding environment that's entirely obtainable.

But that said, gas is (even at current prices) very cheap relative to everything else I spend on my bike and I'm not willing to compromise the fun I have to save a dollar at the pump.  I'll pay the extra couple dollars and keep being a hooligan :)

Good for you. I think my riding is pretty normal. But generally in my opinion your bike is like the horse- if you treat it gently it will cooperate and work for you.

  2. For the last 1000km (just over 600US miles) dashboard is showing 4l/100km which comes to almost 59 US MPG. But it’s to optimistic. In reality it is more like 4.3l/100km which translates to just below 55 US MPG. That’s stock bike. Riding mostly backroads. 50/50 A and standard mode.

  3. Friday May 12th red FJ09 rolling out of Dundas & 403 Tim Horton’s parking lot. Looked familiar. Called my riding buddy few minutes later to find out that it was him on my previously owned bike. Saturday May 13th taking break and about to continue my ride when spotted Tracer 900. The owner had waved to me and I realized that it is my other riding buddy and his GT. We rode together for the rest of the day…

Did you go to Bancroft Rick?  I got my lazy ass moving and made the trek.  First real ride of the year ... about 500 kms round trip ... my ass isn't in "saddle shape" yet.  😬

Glad I went ... beautiful weather and it gave me a chance to catch up with a bunch of guys I used to ride with (The Road Toads) and haven't seen for years.

You can see my blue 2020 about 2/3 of the way up the hill.

Yes I did. First bike on the right. I noticed blue GT and was looking for the owner hoping that you got my message but without any luck. Later on when I got home Tom confirmed that in fact it was your bike. Ended up with over 600km yesterday. It was in fact great riding day.

Early season yet.  Don't give up.  It'll come.

Early season but look at the weather. Tomorrow morning I’m going to Bancroft (300km one way) to meet and have a lunch with Stromtroopers (V Strom riders). People are coming from Mississauga, GTA, Ottawa and one guy even from Sarnia. Perhaps is going to be 20 of us. That would be nice ride for you too. If you interested it’s a restaurant on the corner of 28 and 62. You can’t miss it. Everybody is welcome. We are meeting there at 12.

So less than $5 more per fill up, it’s like $.75 here so $3.

I’ve never understood the penny pinching that happens with things like oil and fuel, and especially with fuel the lengths people will go to save $2 or $3 on a fill up, but that’s me……..

Maybe if you put 5000km a year it makes not much difference but if you ride 50 000 it counts.

That’s couple of days ago on my first on this one (new to me) and first this season short 200 km run. Must say she is behaving very well so far.
