  1. Finally after 2 months of ownership of my 2019 Tracer I had a first chance to take her out (10C no rain or snow and pretty clean roads).  With 12000km on it she runs very smooth. Heated grips worked as they should and wind deflector on the top of the stock windscreen too. Seems like she is more stable in the straight line on high speeds compering to my previously owned 2015 and 2017 FJ09. Noticed that A mode works better. Much smoother. So far so good. And here she is before (2 months ago) stock and after (today) with wind deflector, beak, radiator grill, Garmin gps, Oxford heated grips, short adjustable clutch and breaks levers, SW Motech tank bag, engine protection and skid plate, adventure Yamaha foot pegs, removed passenger pegs, kick stand enlarged plate, mesh seat cover, luggage rack with Givi top case, heated gear and charger connectors, and wheel stripes. Still waiting for auxiliary lights to be delivered. And yes suspension set up was one of the first. And 4l/100 km fuel consumption. Great.

  2. Finally had a first ride of the season and first one on my new (to me) Tracer 900. After half an hour of riding red Tracer 9 (GT perhaps) at the intersection of Lower Base Line W and Fourth Line. Today (26th of March) around 4.15. It was first time I’ve seen 9 on the road. One hour later dark grey FJ09 on Trafalgar Rd in Erin (Ballinafad) going South. I was on this one.

Rick, it's a 2020 Tracer 9GT and you do need to remove the panels to get to the four fixing bolts. The question is, do I need to remove the crash bars to get the panel off.

As I mentioned above (I was talking about first generation). I don’t know what radiator guard you’ve got but I installed it on my 2019 without removing panels. It wasn’t easy but it is done.

    Please clarify your comment.

There are at least a dozen more mods also commonly made to street bikes less maybe the skid plate.  A 15 FJ09 per the hop manual is due for brake line (and clutch cable) replacement.  The stock brake pads are GG, fine for the rear but they have no place on a bike like a FZ/FJ/XSR/Tracer! An OEM slip/ assist clutch is relatively inexpensive and greatly reduces lever effort, improvs shifting and adds more than a  of safety especially in wet conditions.

Next up would be front & rear suspension "recalibration"...

Just kidding. In fact I’m in the same process right now. For me it is not first time but he might be scared that this bike needs so much to be ready to go … lol

Simple question folks. Do I need to remove my Heed crashbars in order to remove the fairing panels in order to fit a radiator guard?

And what year is your bike? Anyway, you don’t need to remove fairings in order to install radiator guard but if you really  want to you don’t have to remove Heed crash bars (on  first generation).

Oil / Oil filter changed , Coolant changed , new air filter , rear rack / rear tail pack fitted , side stand foot expander thingy fitted and a 2 1/2 hour local ride to shake her down and test the new Helmet i treated myself to and get the first ride of the year done. Was a long 4 1/2 months of no riding , great to be out again.

You’re not attempting to kill her I hope.
