  1. It looks like a Yamaha version of SW motech tail bag https://sw-motech.us/en/products/luggage/tail+bags/PRO+tail+bags/4052572198070.htm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxfeL_IqkhQMViyWtBh0bUgJFEAQYASABEgLeEvD_BwE&gad_source=1
  2. I saw the sticker on my Givi outback 42L saying "LIMIT is 120 KPH (which is ~75mph)"... Cruising speed here is quite high (>85mph), but guess what ? nothing happens when riding >75mph. Those stickers are just there for the manufacturer to decline all responsibility if anything happen to someone riding over the speed they defined as safe. Ride withing your skills, and you shall be fine. Just remember that more weight means longer stopping distance.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those places!
  4. Hi all, I recently (August 2023) moved to the San Diego county (north of the county), from San Francisco Bay Area. I used to ride in the Santa Cruz mountains, Mount Hamilton, Calaveras Rd, to name a few. What are the fun roads in the area ? Thanks
  5. Here are my 2 cents : if your bike is salvaged and don't think about spending countless hours putting it back together, just walk out with the money and get a new bike! I think you got that already, but, just to reiterate! Now, new bike, I would say think about what you'd like your dream bike to be and get it! In another post I mentioned the Kawaski H2 SX/SE-whatever they put after H2 that is the sport/touring version (if you want to get crazy insane perf with some comfort). If you'd like to keep in the same style Tiger900 is nice and smooth (did a test one the 800 before buying the FJ09), S1000XR would be a nice upgrade (engine speaking), the MV looks awesome, but if you don't have a dealership close to where you live or work, I wouldn't think about it! Have you considered the Multistrada V2? or perhaps a KTM 890 Adventure?
  6. I bought those https://spieglerusa.com/ I think! They sell a complete kit!
  7. Well, I don't know if that would compare to the VFR... but, I'm thinking about a test drive of a Kawi H2 SX/SXSE... That could be the fastest and most comfortable way to lose a driver's license...
  8. Did you find an aftermarket for the 1st gen of FJ09 ? If yes which one?
  9. Lubed my clutch cable... Still need to adjust free play and grease clutch lever pivot bolt though 😛
  10. I've ridden in France during cold winter, and winter gloves were enough for me on a bike without heated grips. Reading all those comments reminded me that time but I'm glad I live in California now, in SF Bay Area, but at least it doesn't get so cold that I need to think about getting heated gloves. I ride with mid-season gloves with heated grips on when temperature drops and that's largely enough. The menu to turn them on is really easy on the 2016 model (with 3 presets), not sure about younger version.
  11. I'm actually looking for the Givi Outback 42L in terms of top case, I like the idea of putting my helmet there!
  12. Well, the question is more if you can get just the top case or just the side cases.
