  1. I took mine out for a ride and got an inspection sticker! 55 degrees. Now to figure out how to get all the road salt off her.
  2. B Mode is great for slipping up a muddy dirt road with TCS off. (Or a lawn job, if you are a hooligan.) I have no idea the MPGs I'd get in B Mode as I never use it that long. My ECU is a 2WDW set up with STD still as default so it looks "normal" on the HUD. A Mode is preferred and I go into it once the water temp is higher than Low on the HUD. Averaging 45.9 with mixed road type driving. Only gripe with the bike is that I haven't put on a cruise control - right hand gets buzzy after 150 miles or so.
  3. I use A rag covered with WD-40 for the heavy crap, rinse with water and then spray with S-100 cleaner, let it sit 5 minutes and hose her off. Do not put S100 on anything hot, or forget to rinse it off.
  4. Geez, the ones on my Akrapovic titanium are purple, fading to gold.
  5. I put mine on with the adhesive and four aluminum pop rivets with backer plates and they stay put. Finish the job with a Q-tip and a little flat black paint. Aside from that, how'd she swim?
  6. Ordered the new clutch cable. (2PP-26335-02-00/$22.19) Parts for CCT recall in. Will change fluids (brake, coolant, oil) all at same time. Might be bikeless for a day, but it will be well worth it as I take long rides.
  7. Trambo, where were you riding? I was out by Culpepper... Yep, 75F was the highest I saw on the HUD. But that was at a light in traffic. Front brakes, even with ABS and stock pucks, will let you do front wheel stoppies when some idiot deprives you of right o' way using right o' weight. Guy pulled into and then back out of a gas station on 522 without looking - lots of quick action. Tempted to use hand signals instead of the horn afterwards.
  8. Installed PIAA 530 Led driving lights at the top fender bolts. Had to run the power harness from battery to front of bike - only fits one way - under gas tank along frame on either side. Big hands, small spaces and cold in my garage on Friday, so the job was laced with expletives. Saturday was spent drywalling a buddy's garage, SO: I rode it today for over 200 miles in the Shenandoahs. Got home, checked light mounts for movement (none -Loctite!) and adjusted beam height.
  9. PIAA now makes a light kit for the FJ 09! Just ordered these LEDs - will let you know how they work once installed. http://www.piaa.com/store/p/901-Yamaha-LP530-LED-Driving-Light-Kit.aspx
  10. Removed tinted film headlight covers and got my state inspection sticker. Probably have to park it for a few days for snow/crappy weather.
  11. Did another wet tire test on the PR4's with a ride in light rain. The day cleared up so I kept riding. Got back and lubed the chain & cables and put Sta-Bil in the tank, just in case the weather gets lousy.
  12. Suncoaster, I'm in NOVA, US and thanks for the link. There is a link for a beak that works with the fog lights - would rather get the fog lights first. Assuming that's a link for Australia. Yamaha Canada will not ship to the US, and US dealers don't have the part.
