After lots of research as well I went with the VStream touring and added the cheap Chinese deflector. I’m 5’10” and I now have a very quiet ride. The added width and height of the combo also keeps the bugs off of my jacket and helmet shield.

I replaced my 2007 FJR1300 with the 2019 Tracer GT, so I was kinda spoiled having a quiet ride. I went with the VStream touring medium height and it’s great for me at 5’10”. I did add the cheap Puig clone deflector to the stock screen and it barely made any difference. But on the VStream, and in the highest position, it’s a quiet mile eating cockpit, with still air and zero buffeting. The wind easily clears my helmet and most of my arms. I can still see over the plastic safely. With any larger screen, you do sacrifice some looks. Just depends on what you are trying to accomplish in the end.

I also posted this in the what I did today... UPS dropped off the VStream tallest touring screen and I went for a ride after installation. I noticed a big improvement over the stock screen reducing noise. But I came home and added the cheap wind deflector then went for a second test. I can ride with my visor half way up or all the way, and I have a quiet ride now. My visor down is a little noisy. This was without ear plugs for the testing. For going on real rides with ear plugs, it’s going to be a keeper. Now that I can hear the engine sounds, I am hearing a vibration buzzing that starts at around 4100 rpm and stops at around 4500 rpm as I shift up. Has anyone else heard this?

Today, I installed the VStream tall windscreen and went for a test ride. Definitely made an improvement reducing the noise level over the OEM. I have a nice still air cockpit now in the highest position once I added the cheap deflection device at the top. The wind is well over my helmet. I’m just under 5’10”. (Sounds better than 5’9”) With my visor up, things are super quiet. Maybe it’s so quiet that now I can hear an annoying buzzing at 4100-4500 rpms as I shift up. Has anyone else noticed this buzzing?
