  1. I tried posting a picture but the file size is too big. I'll figure it out eventually.
  2. Your picture is how my original battery was. The replacement is opposite that. And the +- designations are not white on black, they are black on black. Still I shouldn't have missed it. I bought my replacement battery at O'Reilly's, just like I did for my previous bikes without any issues.
  3. Even though my replacement battery reversed poles, it's still upright. It fits. I didn't see any reason to place it on it's side.
  4. Don't know as I bought my 2019 used. Battery was upright and positive pole was in front, negative was in back. The replacement battery I bought was set up opposite and the red cover was on the negative pole. I should have paid more attention to what I was doing.
  5. I have no idea. I have a 2019. You could look it up by looking at the parts online by year. That should tell you.
  6. Lowered passenger pegs should not interfere with the hard bags. Let me know if you find a good set of lowered pegs. I'm interested too.
  7. That seat looks great. I've debated about going to a custom seat. Laam, Russel & Spencer all make great seats.
  8. Try this. I used it on the sportster years ago. http://www.barsnake.com/index.php/about-barsnake
  9. I’m old too but not so slow. Not happy with the stock seat, the comfort seat or air hawk. May look at Lamm or Spencer redoing the stock seat over the winter. Oil, way too much drama to go there, kinda like talking about the dark side.
  10. Most riders don't wave anymore around here, North Texas. I still do and will always stop to help another rider in need, whether I'm on two or four wheels.
  11. I have both the stock and the Yamaha touring screen on my 2019 Tracer GT. They both suck. Just too short for me, in the high setting they push wind in my face and I'm short 5'10".
  12. Put the new license sticker on the plate. Time to go for a ride.
  13. I know that tires are subjective, everyone prefers their own brand. In the past I've been very happy with Michelin PR4 & 5's. Currently I have no problems with the Pirelli's, just thinking ahead for the next tire change. Want to switch to 90degree valve stems and maybe a TPM system.
  14. My ST1300 had RoadSmart 2's. I did not care for them. It may have been the PO did not take care of them. The front tire had cupping. They did not handle well.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I was guessing to cut out about 3/4"-1" off the bottom. It does make sense to reinforce it.
  16. I had them on the ST and really loved them. After a year of the Pirelli's, I've been very happy with them too.
  17. I'm currently running Pirelli Angel GT's on my 2019 Tracer GT. The local bike shop wants to sell me Dunlops, I didn't care for them on my Honda ST. I'm leaning towards Michelin Pilot Road GT5's for staying with Pirelli. Any thoughts?
  18. I understand that but it should be of if you cut the feet off and weld them back on.
  19. Recently installed Soupy's lowering links. I also lowered the front end about 3/4" and switched out the comfort seat for the stock seat. The bike is much more comfortable now. However, it is now very hard to get up on the center stand. The side stand still works and I didn't need to install the Soupy's side stand. Has anyone cut the center stand down to work with lowering links? How much did you cut out? Thanks.
  20. Greetings from Dallas, TX. I picked up a 2019 Tracer GT last August. It's been a year and I'm starting to really enjoy the bike. Looking forward to cooler fall temperatures. Take care.
  21. Battery was not reversed. The replacement battery had opposite poles from the one it was replacing. Blew a couple of fuses. All is good.
  22. Didn't have any other issues. No codes to clear. Thanks.
  23. Thanks for all of the replies. It was a simple case of operator error. The poles were reversed from the previous batter and the - pole was covered with the red cap. Two new fuses and all is well. Thanks again.
  24. It was up right just like the one I took out. Red to red and black to black.
  25. I am the 2nd owner of a 2019 Tracer GT. The previous owner had installed a power center 8, TPX radar detector, Zumo and heated seat. Recently the battery died so it was time for a replacement. I figured that while I was doing this I'd install a battery tender and take off some accessories (power center 8, TPX radar detector, Zumo and heated seat) that I don't use. While installing the battery I noticed that it was live. I connected the negative terminal and as soon as I touched that positive terminal it sparked and it sounded like the fuel pump was activated. Key and kill switch were off, with the key on nothing light up. I'm guessing there is a short somewhere. Everything was working properly before the battery change. I'm guessing I have a short somewhere. Any ideas.
