Yes, most do seasonal sales, and for all that I know of, the sales begin on or before November 1. Or 1 November, if you prefer. So if a deal is to be had on the helmet you want, it should be active now. No need to wait.

Sign up for their email lists, and you'll get emails with all the latest and greatest deals.

My current list of vendors to check includes Revzilla (love their Zilla bucks), Rocky Mountain ATV/MC (similar rewards program), and https://www.motorcyclegear.com/

Great prices and incredible service with all the above.

https://motorcyclecloseouts.com/ is sometimes worth a look. READ the return policy for what you're buying VERY carefully; some closeout items have a different policy.

There are many others... Dennis Kirk, Chaparral Motorsports, and Iron Pony are worth checking. I cannot recommend BikeBandit.

I've also spotted some steep helmet discounts on JP Cycles on occasion.

FWIW, if it's a current major brand helmet, the pricing will be nearly identical everywhere, and most ship "free" above a certain price. The differences are in the rewards program. My last helmet was about $500, and earned me $25 in store credit rewards at Revzilla, plus at the time they had a bonus program in place that added a few extra bucks to that.

With, well, you know, "things" being the way they are out there, if you know what you want and find it in stock, grab it. I know most will give you a rebate for the difference if it goes on sale a few weeks later, so I would not wait.

Thanks for the links and advice.

I'm keen to buy now for exactly the reason you state in the last paragraph- but it's always good to save a few Quid , sorry , Dollars as and when you can.

    Now , where's the Wife's Credit card........

  2. Having only recently moved to the States,  I'm still learning things .

Do Company's like Revzilla do online Black Friday deals ?

As I'm looking to replace my Lid with something newer for when I get back onto 2 wheels. Found the make I want , so do I buy now or wait to see if it goes for less at the end of the month ?

Plus I have a feeling my UK textiles are going to be a bit ' heavy ' for riding in the heat of North Nevada and beyond 😎

    Cheers 👍

  3. Welcome onboard from a Englishman now living in the States ( only since the end of May ) 👍

LOADS of great info on here about the '15 Tracer.

Had to sell mine before I moved here , going to view a low mileage unmolested '15 Tracer ( FJ09 ) in a couple of weeks , so hopefully be getting back on the road soon.

    Well , once I've passed the 🇺🇸 m/c test anyway .

  4. So, I'm originally from over the Pond in England , i owned one of the original MT09 Tracer 900/ FJ09 which i bought in March 2015 , i joined this forum a few days later , loved being on here but life kind of took over and I lost the inclination to use the forum.

Anyway , in the meantime , I married an American girl and have moved to North Nevada USA

Obviously had to sell my beloved Tracer before I moved so I'm now on the hunt for another one.

Before that I need to pass my Motorcycle test over here which I probably can't do till the new year. ( I did have it booked for early September but unfortunately I was in hospital fighting off bloody Covid - not exactly what I needed after only being in the States for 3 months !! )

So I'm looking for another bike and while doing so this Forum popped up and it made sense to come back and see what's happening and what I've missed.

Sadly it seems to be a bad time to be looking at the dealers as they are asking stupid money for second hand Tracers , found a 2019 Tracer GT with 6,500 miles on in Idaho for only $2k less than it would of been new , + all the taxes and fees.

Hopefully I'll find a good private sale that's not over on the east coast like all the ones I've seen seem to be .

    Regards , Pilgo ( Steve ) 🇺🇸🇬🇧

  5. Arai Rebel
My first new lid after my 9 years off bikes, it seems very noisy ( I dont remember my last Arai  being as loud as this)
I brought it before I got my Fazer, as I planned on getting a Bandit originaly, just to get a year or so back on a bike before I got a 'better' bike, and the Rebel is touted as a lid to be used on naked bikes, but its as loud on the Tracer as it was on the Fazer, but it fits really snug, has lots of useful air vents and is the best lid ive had for putting my glasses on with, so I'll stick with it. Just started the process of getting some made to measure ear plugs made, so hopefully that'll sort it. (And I can get it serviced for free every year at the bike show in brum )
  6. FWIW, I tinted the stock screen the other day and it looks a lot better, if not quieter :)
Im quite happy with the stock screen but would like it tinted, all the tinted after market screens are either bigger or smaller, ive been looking for a same size tinted screen and had considered getting it tinted, so any info about how you did would be appreciated
  7. Did a 2 hour ride out for WWW.MARTHACARE.ORG.UK from Glastonbury rugby club and back via some lovely somerset backroads and up cheddar gorge, about 200 bikes id guess, a constant stream of bikes that kept the cagers stuck at junctions untill we'd all gone through, going down Glastonbury and Wells high streets was fun, lots of people taking photos and waving, all to raise money for a  worthy local charity.
couple of blokes asked about the TRACER ( FJ ) so yamaha might be shifting a few more soon.
  8. Yamaha will try to direct customers to their website to look at pretty pictures as printed media is very expensive and goes out of date quickly. Whilst most customers will have an internet connection there will be a proportion that do not. My local dealer will happily print off a pdf of an accessory catalogue for example, which is what I would expect any dealer to do. It's a shame if your dealer wasn't able to do this for you LofS.
One dealer offered to print some stuff off for me, but of course I can do that myself at home; but being an old-fashioned sort of bloke I do like to have crisp paper in my hands! And a decent brochure can always be used to adorn the garage wall!

L of s, if you really want a brochure i have 2 here, if your willing to wait for it to come by old fashioned post, im more than happy to send it down under to you ?
