quicksilver
2wheeldynoworks mentions adjusting fan temperature. I live and ride above sea level (6000ft) where summer cooling issues due to low air density might be an issue. I'm curious as to thoughts about altering stock setting. Premium Member wessie Posted April 26, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 26, 2015 I wouldn't worry about the effect on cooling. I've ridden extensively in Southern Europe where you can be at sea level at 40 Celsius (104F) and not long after be at 9000ft just a few miles north of Nice. I would be more concerned about overheating at sea level at 1 atmosphere pressure than at a lower pressure at altitude with a much cooler ambient temperature. Fueling at altitude. Now that is a different matter. It's less common nowadays with fuel injection but in my travels I've seen quite a few bikes conk out well before they have got to the 9000ft summit of the Col de la Bonnette. Modern bikes are very good at adapting to different O2 densities with their fancy electronics and algorithms. This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is. mattemike
I've a Yamaha FZ1 with a re-flashed ECU & what it does is lower the temp which the fans come on. Hence lower engine temps with high ambient temps.
