Wanted to buy: Yoshimura Y-series exhaust for 2020 Tracer 900 GT

Recommended Posts

G'day all,

Total newbie here, so am sure I'm contravening protocol by posting this message on this forum......but I'll live dangerously.  Just picked up my new (to me) 2020 Tracer 900 GT, Black with red/orange trim last weekend.  Bike has 4,600km on it and in great shape.  Sadly had to put it away in my shed to hibernate for the winter given the deep freeze winter brings in my neck of the woods (Calgary, Canada).  Really looking forward to Spring to throw a leg over it and experience this fine machine.  Coming off a 2013 Vstrom 650, so am guessing I'll notice the additional 'juice'  😉

Questions:

  1. Now searching for a used Yoshimura Y-series (full exhaust) in excellent condition (Part # is B1J-E46D0-V0-00) to replace the OEM exhaust.  Anyone looking to sell one?
  2. For those who run this pipe, would be interested to get feedback on level of increased sound and whether it emphasizes the bass notes...which is what I'm after.  Curious about level of drone (if any) on extended hwy rides...
  3. If you run this pipe, did you remap fueling? I've heard this is not required with this exhaust given it has a cat and uses the OEM O2 sensor which recalibrates fueling, but interested to get feedback.

If I've posted inappropriately, I welcome the moderator moving this message to the correct forum.  I tried finding a way to create a classified advert with a WTB for the Yoshimura, but couldn't find a way to do so.

Cheers....

Thx much for those clips......awesome sound from that pipe!  Confirms I need one 😉

I've got family in Melbourne and Torquay in Victoria....and have travelled through the Sunshine Coast.  You live in a beautiful part of the world, with year-round riding conditions (pretty sure).  Merry Christmas!

I wondered about your origins/connections when you opened with "G'day" 🙂 Don't know if it's a Canadian thing as well though mind you?

Anyway, glad those clips were of some help and you'll probably get some feedback in here from those that actually have one for some first hand info.

And yes, this isn't a bad place to live although I'm thinking where you are is not so bad either given some of the photos I've seen posted in here is anything to go by.👍

Thanks for the Christmas wishes and same to you too.

Ho, ho, ho.

If not set on the Yoshi, I certainly cannot say enough good things about my Delkevic carbon fiber full system.

Took a look at the Delkevic and it seems like a good exhaust too....and great value compared to the Yosh.  That said, I'm concerned it would be a little too loud with more drone than I'd like on long rides.  I take it you now the Delkevic?  Does it come with a DB killer/insert?  Your thoughts on the degree of drone?

I'm sure sound clips online don't do either pipe justice.....wish I could find some local ones to hear in 'real life'.
