This is my 04 R1 track bike. Ive been working my way up to using full throttle and today was the first time I did so……..Full throttle is something else, puts my tracer to shame. 
That rush of power is never ending.

Those look more like jet thrusters than exhaust ports

I changed out the radiator and put in some Engine Ice in it recently.

What I learned doing this is the water pump is inside the engine. The oil pump and water pump are one assembly.

To change the water pump, the oil pan has to be removed. 
Ive been trying to understand the reasoning for doing this.

1st answer is "cheaper to manufacture", then likely mass centralization.

Mass centralization is what I figured. Just sucks if there is ever a water pump leak. Hmmmm whats that white stuff in the oil sight glass.
