Premium Member estell Posted September 25, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted September 25, 2015 The front brakes when applied alone, apply the rear brake, and are monitored by the sensors/system to provide rear brakes every time you use the front ones alone. I like the ABS and traction control, but I am pretty sure that the brakes are not linked on the FJ-09. This was discussed recently in another thread. 2015 red FJ-09: Cal Sci screen, Sargent seat, ECU flash, slider combo, cruise, Rizoma bars, Matts forks, JRi shock, slipper clutch
steve
Yeah, we don't have linked brakes. Super Tenere's do and I have seen some sites mix up the ST and FJ spec's probably causing the confusion.
diveslob
Bike got serviced yesterday (6k) and they bled the rear brake for me as it had become so spongy. It just felt horrible and of no use. It does feel better now though.
adjuster
Wow, guess I must have read the wrong data. No linked system on the FJ09. So, why's my rear brake looking so used v/s the FZ? (I don't use it much at all, if ever, and usually only at stop lights when I'm sitting there, and want to maintain the brake light on, but give my right hand a rest, or get blood flowing back into my cold hands. Perhaps it's dragging? I know it's dang spongy feeling.
