aceofhearts
I have just got back from my week and a bit jaunt around Europe. The first 5 days my friend Dom was with me and for the final 4 I was on my own. It was great fun and I can't wait to get away again next year. This was the rough plan We started by getting the ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, and spent a day in Amsterdam which as always was great fun . We then rode to The Black Forest through Belgium and France, stopping at Luxembourg for lunch. We spent a few days in the Black Forest enjoying the weather and the roads. We camped in Freiburg and had a great night out with a couple of German guys we met at a student pub. Staying out until 4:30am is not good for a productive next day though :hehe: We also visited the Rhine Falls in Switzerland which was great although a bit touristy. Unfortunately at this point Dom had to get back for work so I carried on the rest of the trip on my own I carried on to Prague and spent a couple of days there, and then moved on to Berlin. There were some surprisingly good roads in the north on the Czech Republic (and much better condition than the roads in England!) and I stopped for a quick photo at a small market in a town I was passing through Since I have the Trabant at home i wanted to get the feel for old Berlin, so stayed in a DDR themed hostal that was spitting distance to what is left on the Berlin wall. Very interesting place And a strangely modified BMW in Berlin The only drag for the whole trip was coming home from Berlin. 500 miles to the ferry and it didn't stop raining the whole way. Took 10 hours and I was glad to get in my cabin. My sandwich bag satnav cover worked well though The bike was great on the journey. Only complaints really were that the seat is not the best so i was ready for a break every 130 miles or so (which tied in well with the ZZR fuel stops thankfully) and I am still finding the screen quite noisy. It averaged 60mpg over the trip though which is respectable so range would be 200 odd miles if i could last that long in the saddle It was also perfectly stable on the autobahns and could sit all day at 85mph+ fully loaded. Its 4 months old now with 5200 miles. Almost due its first proper service

bobbycnote
What an awesome experience. I was wondering how the seat held up, but you answered that at the end. Great pics! Thanks.
