griskins
I have a Galaxy S 7 and Samsung claims it is waterproof to 5 feet for 30 minutes. While I don't take it snorkeling, I use it and Co Pilot for GPS when on rural rides, and here in the Pacific Northwest that can include rain. Have any of you riders used it in such a way without a waterproof case and found whether it can survive a decent rain for a couple of hours? FJ29ER
You will be fine. The phone can hold the water pressure for 30 minutes at 5 ft. So its not so much the wet part it is the pressure of the water. So rain should have zero effect on it. In my opinion.
Premium Member keithu Posted December 17, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted December 17, 2016 I can't speak to the S7, but I've had a Kyocera Duraforce (E6560) and it has been very waterproof over the last 25 months. I use it on my FJ without a case in Oregon, and I take it into the shower most mornings to listen to the news. Very rugged phone.
