A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENTS

I stumbled on this article by Brad Hepler posted on the VFR forum several years ago. https://vfrworld.com/tex_vfr/tech/setup_2.htm It lists typical motorcycle suspension problems by symptoms, with possible causes and cures. For example:
"Symptoms: Not using full travel, feels harsh, poor traction in bumpy corners

Causes: Overly stiff springing or compression damping

Solutions: Lower air pressure; reduce compression damping; softer coil springs"

I guess VFR's were using air pressure on top of oil in the front forks when Hepler wrote the article.  For our bikes, ignore that part of the write up.

Printing the article (3 pages) gives you a handy guide to take (along with suitable tools) when making field adjustments to front and rear suspension units.
