Premium Member sterlinggold Posted October 16, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted October 16, 2018 Found this thread but there was no clear answer to what tool is needed to remove the 10mm nut. There is no clearance to use a standard socket so do I need to sacrifice a socket and grind it to have thinner walls?
BBB
Can you get a thin walled spark plug socket on there? Like this.. Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...)
Premium Member sterlinggold Posted October 16, 2018 Author Premium Member Share Posted October 16, 2018 Thanks, yes I thought about that tool but could not find a 10mm, anyway I ground down a 10mm socket and realized you are not supposed to remove this nut, the bolt is pressed for a reason. This nut hold a tension spring for the mirror. To remove the mirror you need to take the 17mm base off (reverse thread on right side). I am trying to install these extenders, if you plan on getting make sure you order a kit that includes a 10mm reverse thread bolt.
BBB
Ah, that would be why other threads talk about allen bolts! Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...)
