  1. In the owner's manual for my 22 9GT there is a menu choice for SUS Sensor Calibration; the calibration is supposed to be performed after any service to the rear suspension. This is a choice on the settings menu. Maybe that just needs to be done.
  2. Oops. If I'd just read thoroughly I could avoid many stupid questions.
  3. Welcome! Looks like your bike is a 2024? GT or GT+? What part of the world do you live in?
  4. For any bike without a kickstarter, I think an important tool to carry is a set of motorcycle jumper cables.
  5. You're right, that close to the light itself you should be past any relay (unless Yamaha did something really strange). Do you suppose the wire color coding could be incorrect for a 2023 in the instructions provided to you by the manufacturer?
  6. All below is just a maybe. The tracer has a brake light relay. Is the brake light signal wire you are tapping into powered by the relay, or have you tapped into a brake light wire coming from a brake light switch before the relay? So I think you should attach the ST2 "brake light wire" to the OUTPUT of the relay - the wire that attaches to the brake light near the physical brake light, the "position light wire" to an always on when ignition is on front position light 12 volt positive (or other always on 12v+ with ignition on source) and the "ground wire" (obviously) to a good ground.
  7. All the replies confirm that I can be warm and toasty this winter. Thanks! To draco_1967, could you tell us a bit more about your home made heated jacket? That's intriguing!
  8. I have a 2022 Tracer 9 GT. I have a Gerbing heated jacket ( max 6.9 amps) and Gerbing heated gloves(2.2 amps for the pair). I will not use the OEM heated grips. I run Denali 2.0 Trioptic lamps (1.6 amps for the pair). Other power consumption is either OEM or trivial. I ran this combination of power consumption on a Honda CB500x, which has, according to reports, a 500 watt charging system. Does anyone know the watt rating of the charging system of the Tracer 9? Has anyone had success with a Tracer 9 with a similar heated gear setup?
  9. I've upped my rpms, too. The Tracer has such a nice torque even at lower rpms - but that's bad for the engine.
  10. Take a look at this thread RPM's and carbon buildup. Do you usually ride at rather sedate RPM's?
  11. I might ask the dealer, who adjusted the valves, how a valve could have burned with a correct valve adjustment?
  12. I wear size 12 boots and found the clearance to get my toe under the shifter too small. I adjusted the length of the shift rod to raise the shifter peg a bit. For me, problem solved.
  13. Question: Would self fusing silicone tape work as well as a dealer installed rubber boot?
  14. Wow. Sometimes the simplest problems are the hardest to decipher. Thanks for posting the answer!
  15. My wife's Toyota has a radar assisted cruise control; the idea is if the radar sensor sees an object in front of the car that is too close, the car will automatically apply the brake. Sometimes, the object will be a parked car, or a mailbox or other object that is around a curve and is sensed as being in front of the car. I do not like the system; there is a way to not have the radar help turned on.
  16. A Super Thumbs UP to Rdecae81 for posting the answer to the problem, which could have happened to anybody. But now "anybody" now has additional information on what to avoid!
  17. Sometimes footpegs have adjustable heights. Maybe one side is in the high set of holes and one in the lower? Note: I dont know if your bike has adjustable footpegs or not.
  18. According to Google Translate, Gio58's post in English is: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good morning everyone I ask the most experienced what happens if during the oil and filter change it is put in excess (about 3 grams more) and I have already traveled about 700km of mountain passes? I did the oil and filter change myself and as per manual I poured into the cup 2.7 lt considering the notches on the package The level was correct but after a week it has risen So today I removed a quantity equal to 3 bars of the package by leveling correctly I may have created some damage by turning with an excess of oil Thanks for the comments you want to post ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19. This is a link to another forum. I'm linking to it because of the subject - a possible widespread CP3 emission recall: recall possibility
  20. My bike reads about 2 - 3 MPH fast. A minor detail not really worth being bothered by ... but it does bother me and I have a Speedohealer (off another bike) that will work (according to Healtech) with the Tracer 9 GT. 1) I know being bothered by a 2 or 3 MPH error is nuts, but I am nuts (apparently) and I have a Speedohealer off another bike that I could install. 2) What concerns me about the install is that this is a direct cut the wires type of install. In particular, the White/Yellow wire which goes to the ABS ECU (accessed by removing - or maybe raising - the gas tank). I guess this is a data wire with speed information on it which is modified by the Speedohealer. The wire is cut, then two wires from the Speedohealer are attached, one to each cut end of the White/Yellow wire (plus hot and ground connections). My bike is so computer controlled that cutting a wire and modifying the data on the wire is concerning due to any unintended consequences, but the Speedohealer folks say it works.
  21. Has anyone installed a Speedohealer on a 2021 or 22 Tracer 9 GT? If so, did you have any problems or issues with the install?
  22. I should have said that I have a Givi Monolock top case and an adapter plate that the case will connect to. I could attach the plastic adapter plate to almost any rack. Thanks for the two good leads. I think the Givi rack that Kingfisher showed or the SW-Motech rack that robzilla showed would work. But, I can't tell about the vertical support that the racks have; does the vertical support underneath the racks seem sufficient to keep the rack from flexing a lot with the weight of a loaded case?
  23. I need a top case rack for my Tracer 9 GT. I have a previously used Givi case from another bike, I just need the rack. But, it seems like a lot of items for the Tracer 9 GT are out of stock. Here's what I've found: Yamaha OEM (not sure this really fits the Tracer 9 GT) https://yamaha-motor.com/p/mt-fz-rear-rack-top-case-mount Shad (doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere) https://www.shadusa.com/products/tracer-9-gt-2021-top-mount Hepco & Becker (out of stock where I've checked)https://www.motomachines.com/hepco-becker-rear-easyrack-yamaha-tracer-9-21 Anybody know of others? Does the Yamaha really fit the Tracer 9 GT? Are any of the listed ones available anywhere? Thanks for any help. By the way, I tried to insert the links above but they did not work. Maybe I don't have enough posts to be able to insert links?
