  1. Yes I have, Yaman is your's a 9 GT? That shifter looks nothing like mine. Maybe you have the older model?
  2. I will report back on how the Puig setup works or doesn't once I get them installed
  3. My Daytona riding boots do have very thick soles but not an issue on my other two bikes
  4. I am amazed there aren't more posts about rear sets, foot pegs on this forum. Tried both positions and find it almost impossible to get my riding boot toe under the shifter. I'm not big foot either, size 42 riding boot/9.5 US. Pic ^^^ from 2and3cylinders appears to be an older 900 not a 9 GT. I just measured the distance between the center of the foot peg to the center of the shifter on all my bikes. My Monster is 6.25", Ninja 6" and Tracer only 5.5" plus the fattest of the foot pegs and biggest diameter rubber cover on the shifter making the distance even smaller. Not many options either I've found. Woodcraft makes rear sets but they state "for racing only" as they don't fold. Plus quite pricey. I'm going to give the Puig foot pegs with the 20mm 360 degree adjuster, should at least get me back to the distance I have on the other bikes.
  5. I would be worried about hitting the exhaust (all under the bike) by lowering it. It's a bit higher than my last bike, can't flat foot both feet at the same time on the Tracer, but I knew that going into it. Have you looked at height increasing boots like the Chippewa logger boots? I don't ride with a passenger so can't comment on how much of an issue it is not being able to flat foot both feet but I'd imagine the extra weight of a passenger could increase sag enough so I actually could I think there's no lower seat available because with the stock seat at it's lowest setting there's not much more to go down without getting a hard plastic seat with no foam at all. Before choosing the Tracer I really wanted to get a BMW S1000XR but ultimately it was too tall for me, I know BMW offers it in a "lowered" version but I had heard of people bottoming it on speed bumps and transitions from hills to flat pavement. Ultimately chose the Tracer as it just fit me better.
  6. You need to borrow a Ducati twin on a day like that and get the true deep fried experience. Then you'll never think any bike is hot ever again.😅
  7. Picked up the new bike (2022) on Friday and got a good 150mi ride yesterday. For reference I also own a Ducati Monster 937 (7K miles) and a small Ninja that's mostly for my son to learn on these days. Good: I would say my first impression is 90% positive so that's a win 1. Feels just as nimble in the twisties as the Monster, this surprised me as it's a much heavier bike by about 80 lbs and it's taller 2. No issue feeling like I'm being air fried even when coolant temps reached 220f 3. Cruise Control is a godsend, I'm hooked 4. Much more forgiving in just about every gear, doesn't lock the rear end up if you let go of throttle too fast. Monster has way too much engine braking I'm realizing 5. Excellent quick shifter Bad: Only one comment, seems super finicky clutch starting from a stop especially a hill start. Feels like there's nothing until the lever is almost fully released and then it's full engagement. Correct RPM is far more significant than any other bike I've owned. First bike I've stalled on a hill start in a very long time.
  8. On the O2 sensor recall how do I visually confirm this has been done? I found the full write up of M2023-007R and it states: "Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to have the oxygen sensor coupler terminals inspected and if any terminals are found corroded, the oxygen sensor and main wire harness assembly will be replaced with a main wire harness assembly of a different design; if the terminals are not found corroded, a CONNECTOR COVER will be installed over the existing oxygen sensor coupler" Since this is a new bike there's not going to be any corrosion so where do I look for this cover? Can't find any pics of this related to the recall. I assume it's somewhere down here:
  9. Picking up my new 2022 Tracer 9 GT next week, what are the 4 recall numbers mentioned above? Want to verify they're all addressed before taking ownership NVM, did a recall lookup by VIN here: Yamaha Dealer recalls Looks like there are 2 not completed for the bike: M2023-006R ECU Programming Error M2023-007R O2 Sensor Connector Corrosion
  10. Good morning, enjoyed reading your reviews of the Tracer 9 GT. I take ownership of a new '22 myself next week and have a few questions you may be able to shed light on with all your miles. I've read about handlebar vibration issues on the Tracer and MT09, any thoughts on that? Was trying to figure out what, if any, bar end wts are on the bike stock, if adding them would make a difference or if it's even necessary. Guess I'll learn soon. Any tips for ride modes to set it and forget it? I have a Monster 937 and found the two lower ride modes to be annoying so I've just left it in the Sport mode full time. Granted on the Monster in ~7k miles I've never felt the front end wanting to lift so the fact I don't have lift control isn't an issue but from what I know it's likely more important ont he CP3 engine to have it engaged. I don't fiddle much with the settings so once ride and braking is set the only on the fly adjustments I see making are suspension and heated grip level. BTW, Tracer deals galore right now on '23 and '22 models. Likely due to clearing them out before the GT+ arrive. Was considering waiting for a GT+ but couldn't pass on a new '22 for under $12K and dealer prep thrown in. That could be a $5K savings over a new GT+ when they arrive.
