  1. Finally! I get to know what the freaking dots on what I thought were Philips screws means. I did wonder why I could not seem to find the perfect grip on some. Even with the many size screw drivers I own. I just ordered another tool. šŸ˜ Thanks for sharing.
  2. I have the curled version of the SW Motech skid plate. Taking a dual sport riding class, a large rock bought me to a full stop very quickly šŸ˜’ The plate bent, the brackets did also. The plate stopped with the exhaust both front and back. A very small scratch on the rear exhaust, a small bend on the header. That was it. Got up and kept riding (~5 mph to 0 in 0 seconds on high rocks with no place to put the feet to stop the fall). I plan to replace the skid plate with the same. Chose not to make a hole for oil changes since it can become a ā€œgrab pointā€ and removing the filter with the plate on is messy anyway.
  3. Yup. That is my story on my 2015 Tracer. Iā€™m 220 with gear. Adding hard bags, pillion, etc places me over to the bikes max weight capacity. I replaced the suspension with Nitronā€™s adventure setup. I had close to max preload on forks. Rear was at max. It wasnā€™t that bad unless the bike was fully loaded (no pillion).
  4. I was able to use the springs from the Tenere pegs. And I did try revzilla. No one in the US was able to tell me they could get the part. And I called some of them in case they had some restriction they would not want to put in writing.
  5. I forgot to say, the ones on the Tenere look the same but are not. I purchased those first since there's a way to modify them to fit but the mod was a bit of a pain without the right tools. I decided to buy the ones that fit instead.
  6. I wonder if it was caused by standing on the footpads with MotoCross boots while performing slow tight maneuvers. It was the first time on this bike doing that. šŸ¤”
  7. I'm not sure how that happened. I noticed the one peg was up and saw the spring side that rests on the bike was in the hole and not resting on top. Eventually it went all the way to the other side.
  8. I bought the footpegs from Yamaha MT-09 Adventure Foot Pegs 1RC-274M0-00-00 Adventure-type wider foot pegs make your ride more comfortable... It was an easy install and my first outing with them after a short test was on an adventure ride. The return spring in one of them failed within 1 hr and now I can't find a replacement. The Yamaha part number is nowhere to be found. I contacted yamahabits but no reply. US based vendors have not replied either. The part number within the kit is 90508-18061or 90508-18117 (not sure which is the left side). I am of course willing to buy one of each and see which one it is. Any ideas where I can find that? `
  9. That may be because of the ear molds I am using. With the stock insert I don't think is much different than the QC-30.
  10. I had not considered using my Bose for this since my previous experience with ear buds was hit and miss (and they are illegal in my state). I use my Sena 20S. So, I went and tried my QC-30. One fell off while wearing my Shoes Hornet X2. The other stayed nicely but then prevented the helmet from coming off. The one that fell off was also stuck inside causing some pain. Had to spend some time carefully extracting each ear bud before removing the helmet. And one of the silicone insets fell off in the process. My QC-20 have custom ear molds. They are larger, will probably not come off, but will likely prevent the helmet from coming off too. I did not risk those. YMMV.
  11. I upgraded the suspension on my 2015 FJ-09. I have not noticed since but my riding has been limited due to work šŸ˜–
  12. Agree 100%. Suspension is something I budget for with every bike I own. The initial cash outlay is expensive but the return on your money with improved performance and control is priceless. I went with the Nitron adventure shock rear and Matt's upgraded forks with the adjusters on top of the forks. Confidence inspiring is the name of the game. I used to feel when the bike was reaching 70 mph because of the light vibration. 80 mph was an adventure. Now is very stable, vibration and light weight feeling is gone. A bit harsher ride is the only drawback. but I may be able to adjust it out. I have not played with any setting yet.
  13. Iā€™ve hit 114 indicates several times with cases on and stock windscreen in low. Havenā€™t experienced any trouble but I have a feeling itā€™s because Iā€™m 230 without gear lol. I keep the sucker planted! I was 220 with gear with Givi barn doors, Givi panniers (not full), and a bag on the pinion seat. Over 80 mph it would start with a light shake. I purchased new suspension that I hope to install next week and see if it fixes it.
  14. Is this not a false sense of security? Getting rid of a head shake but the front tire still light? I don't really know the reason for the head shake but folks report a cure with new suspension.
