  1. Lol nice! A friend of mine does shenanigans like that on his R1100s all the time: Rug Doctor:
  2. Installed the Calsci large today (+7.5"). It works with stock handguards. I didn't get a chance to test it out on the highway yet, I'll do that tomorrow. I am 6'3". I bought it used and I think it was missing some of the rubber mounts to rest against, so I'll have to hit up calsci for more. New one is a good 7.5" taller:
  3. Installed the heated grips and the calsci large windscreen today. The windscreen I'm not sure if it's any better yet, didn't get to do any highway riding with it. New one is a good 7.5" taller:
  4. Those were from Wikipedia, but must be wrong because other sites I'm seeing now say what you're saying. Whoops! I definitely see a damper, and other suspension upgrades in my future.
  5. My 2005 R6 had a Rake and trail of 24°, 86 mm. The R6 is well known for it's good turn-in, and it always felt stable at speed to me, and I've had it on the track. The newer R6 has 24°, 97 mm. I don't know enough about rake and trail to comment further haha. Edit: Just read this article, which summarizes things well. http://www.ridermagazine.com/motorcycle-features/understanding-motorcycle-rake-and-trail.htm/
  6. Perporter, do the stock handguards have full or almost full clearance when turning with the Madstad? Also, at 6'4", do you find yourself looking OVER or THROUGH the screen? Thanks
  7. @wessie That sounds like it works, but I'd like to avoid that clip-on if I could. I'm not a fan of how it looks. But if that's what I need to do, then I will @perporter I look forward to the pictures of the madstad. For me it's between that and the Calsci large.
  8. Is there a consensus on the best windscreen for a 6'3" person? The stock screen is best in the low position for me right now, hitting right at the bottom chin of my helmet, but it's still kind of loud. If I put my hand up on top of the windshield, I can successfully deflect the air over my head and make it very quiet. So is there a screen that's 4-6 inches taller than stock?
  9. I did my first oil change today at 550 miles super easy since I don't have to remove fairings like I did on my R6! Then I took it out for a nice 50 mile ride on the only curvy roads in my area.
  10. I just changed my oil today with Rotella T6 at 550 miles. I tend to side with the belief that modern engines don't really need much of a break in, so I had no problem switching to synthetic at an earlier mileage.
  11. I'm actually fairly impressed with the stock horn compared to my old 2005 R6! It suprised me with how loud it was when I honked at someone who cut me off yesterday. This air horn sounds nice though.
