  1. Yes the turn-ins felt good. Yea, my rear was pretty flat in the middle haha. I was suprised too, but seeing that it was just gentle commuting for the most part, it makes sense.
  2. Made it 10,000 miles on the OEM tires (front was still fine) of just commuting. Took the bike to the track and swapped on some Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa IIs. Vendor only had 180/60 rear, so I have that on. Teeny bit taller ride height. Did a few sessions on track with them.
  3. No engineers needed. Every other sportbike factory specs are much looser, us track folks run it even looser, and there are no issues, only benefits. Full rear suspension movement, etc. You should be at least 1 inch or 25mm. I run 2 on all my track bikes I've ever had. For example, the R6 runs 30-45mm (1.18" -1.77") of slack: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/612270/Yamaha-Yzf-R6.html?page=79 It's like Yamaha forgot the 1" in front when they made the FJ09 manual.
  4. I went with the SH48, size is perfect! It matches the Matte Gray 2015 as well. http://fj-09.org/thread/3300/shad-sh48-top-case-installed
  5. Is FlashTune offering something to you that they haven't made available for normal purchase yet? Because this is the first I've heard of them offering an autoblipper for the FJ09.
  6. 6'3" here. The windscreen that worked best for me is the Madstad 24" screen. It's for 6'4" + and works great. It's fully adjustable with tilt and height adjustment. It comes with support bracket that is better than the stock one. I had tried the Calsci large, but still got buffeting at the top of my helmet. http://www.madstad.com/s.nl/sc.7/category.13491/.f Here are some pics of it installed on my bike. http://fj-09.org/thread/3655/24-madstad
  7. Yes this bike does have a few noises that are common, but not bad. One of them is the loud clutch basket in neutral with the lever released. As soon as you pull it in the noise goes away.
  8. That might help with the assist part, but the part that we are all most interested in is the slipper clutch. Slipper clutches are awesome at the track. Are they needed on the road? I don't think so, but they're just fun to have, like quickshifters on the road.
  9. You can't adjust the existing one, as it's a self-adjusting mechanism with a spring.
  10. I just called my local dealer and they ran my VIN. The recall showed up, and he said he'd order the kit and let me know when it's in. He was unsure at the time if he should order Tensioner 1 or 2. I told him Kit 1 based on what I interpreted.
  11. I think I'll just go in. Dealer's get reimbursed at retail rate (i think) for it anyways, so they shouldn't have a problem performing it. I just looked at my VIN, and I'm one of the ones affected. On a related note, do we know how many FJ09s were sold in the US and internationally?
  12. Finally! So will we get letters in the mail, or do we just take it in and say it's been loud? @badger
  13. Yes Pit Bull triple tree lift if you're going to be using it regularly. The cheaper brands also work, but tend to fail much sooner than Pit Bull products. Browse your local craigslist, and you'll eventually find someone selling a Pit Bull stand cheaper than retail, and it'll continue to last years and years.
  14. OP is right, the new FJR and XSR900 have the slipper AND assist clutch. I'm pretty jealous they got it. I'd be willing to bet you could swap in the parts. Though I wonder all said and done, if a yoyodyne slipper would be less expensive. Here are the two parts fiches. Looks like There are some big differences. http://www.ronayersmotorcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=8327680&category=Motorcycles&make=YAMAHA&year=2016&fveh=292207 http://www.ronayersmotorcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=8226698&category=Motorcycles&make=YAMAHA&year=2016&fveh=289964
  15. What would you say the benefits are for the semi-rigid bags vs hard?
  16. Installed the Madstad 24" today! I had the Calsci large on there before. I wonder if they're made out of different materials, because the Madstad is a lot more clear. Had to remove the outer handguards. Calsci Large: Madstad 24"
  17. I have the Calsci Large, but am still getting some buffeting, so I ordered the Madstad 24" clear today. I am 6'3". I think it will be better since it has it's own mounting system that seems more stable than the stock mount points, and allows air under to prevent the vacuum that causes turbulence. Was a bit pricey at $287 shipped though
  18. Rode it, changed the oil, Stabil, and put it away in the garage for the winter. Was able to do 2400 miles on it since I bought it in late August.
  19. Ha you guys saved your stock grips? I cut those suckers off lol. My air compressor decided it didn't' want to work. Besides, new grips (if I wanted to take off the heated?) are $10. I'm pretty used to cutting off my grips each race season and adding new ones so I guess I didn't have any reservation about doing it haha. Oh yea, and I've seen it mentioned before, but hair spray works great instead of grip glue.
  20. What kind of heated grips are those, I got the Oxford from the dealer that is not intergrated like those. The OEM ones, I replied to your other thread
