  1. I rode it about 100 miles for coffee and strawberry strudel. Man that was good! I'm lovin this bike more and more. Life is good...
  2. It looks like your oil drain plug is at the front of the pan. Is that a new style oil pan?
  3. Rode it another hundred miles! I'm lovin my FJ09 more and more! Smilin' all the way!!!
  4. Went for a ride out to the Yahala Bakery. A bunch of bikers there with various brands. I met a fellow FJ09 owner (Steve). We chatted for a while. He said he's on this forum. Maybe we can organize a ride soon? Oh yeah, I cleaned and re-lubed my chain when I got home. Life is good....
  5. I have 4000 miles on her right now. If there is anything I could say should be done as per the service manual is,"Do the throttle body sync adjustment." In another thread there was discussion on weather or not to do it at the first service. I had it done at the dealer. Between that and breaking in my bike (throws salt over shoulder) is running smooth as silk. I set the front suspension a little stiffer and left the dampening at original. I'm very happy with this bike. I have to say that because my other rides are old school I'm not a good judge as others on this forum with suspension and brake differences. Since this is my first modern bike I have no reference except for demos I rode while deciding on a new bike. I kept coming back to the FJ09. If there is anything I'd like to see with this bike is a touring package which includes heated grips, cruise control, a good seat, and touring bags.
  6. Winter Park Florida. That's just Northeast of downtown Orlando.
  7. Rode out to Port Canaveral from Kissimmee,FL. took Nova road through farm land and cow country. Went with my good friend who has a 2003 Harley Night train. Averaging 45 MPG. on my FJ09. Great riding weather. Life is good...
  8. We'll have to meet up sometime. I'm in DeLand. There's always,"The Wing House in Sanford" off of 17-92. Good wings. Some nice eye candy. A place to hang outside by the bikes....
  9. Rode out to Daytona Beach. Beautiful Florida weather this time of year. Early in the AM around 55 degrees. Then in the 70's. Bike is just hummin' along. The more I ride the FJ09 the more I dig it! I have racked up over 3200 miles in about one month! Whoo! Hoo!
  10. Rode about 200 miles this morning up to Ocala National forest. Jumped on Rt. 314a north to Silver Springs Pwy. Then south on 19 to 441 South and home. Great roads and plenty of places to open her up some. I have around 2500 miles on her. I'm really enjoying the FJ09. I'm getting some," FJ09DF" Or better known as," FJ09 Delay Factor" as in folk are stopping me and asking me about the bike. With my Ural we call it," UDF" or Ural Delay Factor". It's all good...
  11. Today, I took my, "better half" for her first ride on the FJ09. She loved it! The Corbin seat with the backrest works well for her. She really liked the smoothness and quietness of the engine. She never liked being on the back of my 1976 XS650C Yamaha and she normally prefers riding in my Ural sidecar. So her liking the FJ09 is a big deal for me because it adds the fun of riding this great bike for both of us. Good day indeed...
  12. What was the procedure for installing the lights on the knuckle guards? What brand? I really like them. Good work!
  13. Noticed this morning with bike on center stand that the coolant bottle was at the low mark. Went to the dealer and had them top it off as I just had it in for the first service. No big deal. I bought an extra bottle of coolant and an extra bottle of motor oil while there. Then I went for another hundred miles or so ride out at Daytona. Got caught in the rain on the way back home which turned to sunshine (gotta love Florida weather) and dried me off. Got home, wiped the FJ09 down and then went back to Cycle gear to exchange a modular helmet that just didn't fit me right and was giving me a headache. The helmet I exchanged was Matt Grey but the new one is very bright yellow. I figure screw it, better to be seen... Life is good.... Happy Thanksgiving everyone....
  14. Cold is relative... I went to college in Buffalo,N.Y. So I'm familiar with cold. Living in Florida my blood is thinned out. Great riding weather now...
  15. Put another hundred miles on her today. Florida weather is perfect right now. In the seventies, clear, with a slight chill in the air. The FJ09 is just singing along. The more I ride her the better she feels. She's so nimble I have to really pay attention. This bike is a blast! Absolutely no complaints... Have to pick the bugs out of my teeth from smiling so much while riding this beast...;-)
  16. I'm in Winter Park,Fl. We should plan a meet up at the Yahala Bakery sometime in December.
  17. Went about 200 miles today. Got up early and headed to, "The Dam Diner" it's by the south west side of the Ocala National Forest in Central Florida. Good eats. The FJ09 is a dream! Nimble, responsive, fun! Since I'm used to riding old school bikes I'm getting used to smooth easy shifting. I have to remind myself that I don't have to wait to let the engine spin down to shift. I set up the display to my liking. Display 1: ODO,Trip-1, C-Temp. Display 2: Avg. Fuel, Crent fuel, Time trip, Display 3: A Temp, Trip-2, ODO. Really like the feel of this bike. Miles of smiles today. Averaging 45 MPG. She feels like she wants to blast off but I'm being good as far as recommended break in as per manual... It's all real good. Life is grand....
  18. Nothing...:-( Working and counting down the days till delivery... Looking at this forum and absorbing as much knowledge as I can. It's all good... :-)
