  1. Thanks guys. My I ask if you're bothered by the passenger pegs making contact with the inside heels of your boots?
  2. I sold my FJ OEM side cases because my heels bumped into them unless I was riding flat footed on the pegs, and removed the passenger pegs for the same reason. I've looked at the Shad and Givi side case mounts and they seem to move the bags backwards and higher on the bike. Can anyone tell me if they're out of the way enough to not interfere with my boot heels?

  4. Hah! I saw a bottle of water jump out of a cup holder on a Harley from the vibration, I think it might be the wrong direction. I've got my eye on an S1000XR, I rode a friend's and its the best bike I've ever been on. Basically a race bike with bags.
  5. I tried the Yamaha Comfort seat also and didn't find it much of an improvement and the Sargent, which was okay but didn't solve the problem of sliding into the tank and looked really weird. I've had Corbins on past motorcycles and have liked them, but I'm too cheap to spring for one since I'm probably going to get rid of the FJ this season.
  6. I know the name is stupid but it if you can find a set of Vibrinators ( bare ends with a cantilevered weight that runs inside the handle bar for want of a better description ) give them a try along with thick, adventure grips (better than grip puppies) along with padded gloves. I’m guessing the combo cut down on the vibration by about 50%.
  7. Third attempt at a decent seat, Seat Concepts sport touring, installed today. Feels comfy at first flush and I like the added seat height.
  8. 2016, 8000 miles, I honestly don’t like the FJ. Between the death wobble and the vibration I think it has some poorly engineered, unfixable problems that keep it from ever being a good bike. God knows I’ve thrown enough cash at to try to make it one.
  9. Dealer replaced mine no questions asked, seemed eager to get the factory dollars.
  10. If you're talking about the Adventure pegs, I have. They're fantastic, much less vibration through the feet. All mounting hardware included, you just have to grind off the top of the rivet off the pin of one of the stock pegs. Takes seconds with a drill or rotary tool.
  11. Little to no vibes through the pegs now. Feet say they feel more comfortable with the wider base now. When you say short springs, was the elbow bends at the end not reaching the proper mounting point? I don't notice a negative difference between angles for shifting and braking. If anything, I have a previous dislike for the shift lever level with my boot, but that is easily remedied by adjusting the shift shaft.
  12. So I installed the adventure foot pegs from Yamabits UK, they're exactly like the Super Tenere pegs. They fit perfectly and came with springs and pins. They fit perfectly but the pins are a fraction too short. I had a set of the cheap Amazon pegs on the bike so I just reused those. Even with the pin issue it's a great deal for $61 US, the ST pegs are almost twice that when all is said and done and are substantially more expensive.
  13. Another point of confusion for me with that link is that it says not compatible with MT-09 Street Rally ABS
