  1. Please, take a look @ the manual what pressure suggests when you’ re alone, two or with saddlebags. See? All the same pressure... Now, think!!
  2. I find that the shock works better than the stock shock but, for better damping must go for revalving. Also, about the material from the tank, i all ready remove that but still have a touch with the engine (if you zoom in the pic, you’ ll see).
  3. A sign of touch at the engine from the shock tank... Starting feel disappointed with the zx6r project. Nevertheless, maybe i'll make the next and final step.
  4. After a couple weeks, trying to find best set up, i decide to take the shock off of the bike to make it shorter to 330mm, to have the rear wheel at the height it was before. So, today was the time. OEM shock is back now but, when i remove the showa i saw some sigh of wear at the engine with the top of the nitrogen tank. Nothing serious but. To be continued...
  5. That should be quite a harsh un-enjoyable ride, the settings are fully closed, maximum damping. Maybe open it 1/3 for starters. Count the number of clicks from full open to full closed and for example, if you have 15 clicks, back it off 5 clicks from fully closed. You can always add or subtract more damping but fully closed will feel terrible. My fault, i meant counter clockwise.... ?? All ready start to raise dampening!!! First feel is good but... cause i’ m a weird guy, i want to make shock shorter @ 330mm eye to eye. More shock length gave rear wheel 2,5cm. So the chassis is not at the proper position for me.
  6. So, after a month of step by step walkthrough, i was able to ride my bike with the shock of the kawi!! All settings are @ full clockwise and i’ ll start with sag next couple days. After that rebound and for last compression settings!!!
  7. A couple days before i was tightening chain slack. Torque about 90.
  8. adjuster thanks for the reply! Finally i manage to install the shock (tank face down), with out cutting the plastic tray. Not easy job though. Difficult part also was to torque mounting bolt to the linkage ( not enough clearance) so i torque by “hand”.
  9. So, here again after a week. With bolt and bushing from Suzuki @ my hands like picture above shows, today I tried to install the shock absorber, but I did not manage to put it in place. It was difficult due to lack of space down there. I wonder why any of the friends here who have done the project ever mentioned this difficulty. Unfortunately I had to leave for my job and I will continue tomorrow. I think I must remove the plastic tray in frond of tank bolts, or it will need to get the exhaust out of my way to give me the necessary clearance because now the swing arm touches the back of the exhaust. We' ll see!!
  10. DO NOT USE that oil!!! Indicated CST is at 100C, not 40c. see chart. https://sites.google.com/site/forksbymatt/resources/oil-list You generally want a high HVI oil in the 11-13cSt@40 for rear shocks use. pattonme, Thanks for THE tip man!!! You' re absolutely right!!
  11. Update 3: Spring ready!! Powder coated black matt! Until suzuki parts come in, the nitrogen will be in place. But still have some doubt if all this works, due to the length of the suspension with same linkage. I do not want to shorten it as I originally thought, in order not to lose the useful route. Time will tell!
  12. Update 2: The shock is filled up with Golden Spectro shock oil (ultra light) and reassembled!! While waiting for suzuki parts, i will change air valve core for prudential reasons (hope to find in a tire shop) and gonna fill with nitrogen (about 140 psi) spring will go for powder coat (black color) next Monday and...will see!!!
  13. Update: Today i was @suzuki. I bought the nut and spacer needed for the swap but, they'll have it on the store 1st week of September....
  14. So, after some time, i was here to share with all of you, the procedure with pics swapping the OEM shock with the zx6r 08 from showa. Well i' ll start from disassembly the shock, even though I was thinking of going to someone specialist, i deside to do it alone. So i find something living in the shaft that i think you don't find them often. A spring behind the seal head!!! https://s22.postimg.cc/h661mkijl/IMG_2381.jpg' alt='IMG_2381.jpg'> Took off to inspect and clean the high and low speed dumping knobs Found some wear @ the rubber lives in the nitrogen tank, but can be reusable. It just does not have a polished surface. This happen due to the sharp surface inside the tank. I' m thinking to make the surface smoother by rubbing it with sandpaper. I found in the garage a bottle of Torco fork oil, I had used about a year ago. What's left is enough for the shock but I think it's heavy for the "showa' s stomach". So i deside to byu and use a 10 or 7 grade not 15 i all ready have. Sorry for my language... I'll be bask soon with news!!!
  15. This will give you the desired results!!! Inside the FJ muffler https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=1030683&share_tid=556&url=https%3A%2F%2Ffj-09%2Eforums%2Enet%2Fthread%2F556&share_type=t
  16. You can cut the exhaust tip and replace it with a 2’ inch pipe. Will give you more low tone...
  17. I’ m happy you like it!!! Enjoy it!!!
  18. If you're using Chrome, there is an extension that will fix the images for you. If that extension koth442 says doesn’t fix your problem, i can sent you pictures, but you can find them on net also. Really great mod with low or zero cost!!
  19. Do you recall which bolt? Or more importantly its diameter and length? I mean this bolt.
  20. With zx10 shock give extra attention if you install it with the tank down. You need to change a bolt with low profile, or you take risk of attach, when shock bounce hard. With zx6 shock you don’ t have to bother. Anyway, it’s a great upgrade!
  21. I live in Greece. Maybe small ermax will be better...
  22. I had installed ermax touring on my bike. I have to say that it’ s a crap. After two months on the bike (i did not expose the bike to the sun when parked) windshield has small cracks thin like hair , all over around... And it’ s not only me who face that. So keep away.... My opinion
  23. Heat resistant black matt spray.
  24. to hear the sound, near that really sounds like, you should wear headphones. But even then, if you hear it live, it’s better!!! Specially thanks to papac2000 and duhs10 for your help guys!!!
