That's a good first impression to have - but I'm still not clear if that is the Seat Concepts 'standard' replacement seat or their newer 'Touring' kit, which I currently have installed. I can't quite flat-foot it at rest unless I straighten right up on the seat and move right forward. Thanks for the response...@wordsmith
first impression of the new seat sitting on it in the garage is leaps and bounds better than OEM... where the seat gets skinny just past the bucket seat on the new seat, it holds my thighs up more, when the stock one put all the pressure in that area... I can actually flat foot the FJ-09 now... and the bonus is the new seat places me right in my preferred seating area and its level surface from front to back is nice, allows me to get intimate with the gas tank when hitting the curvy roads...

its the standard replacement style...my skinny 150# unsuited arse dont need the highchair style thickness seat... I have a standard seat concepts kit on my FZ-07 and love it...I love the way the seat just holds me in place unless I scoot myself around... longest trip was a 17hr day with gas stops, a few sit down meals...had a Yamaha comfort seat for the FZ-07 and it makes for an excellent race seat...Norcal - is that the Touring seat, or the (earlier) Standard seat replacement kit from Seat Concepts? Comments after trying it out would interest many here... thanks.
will post side by side pics of the foam hopefully this weekend or sooner...

Finally got comfortable with Launch Control... wwwooowwww, it's something to experience... found out in 6th gear at 9k rpms one is doing approx 140mph on a closed course...
-
A few hours ago I went to the gas station for some drinks and thought I need to start playing with the Launch Control... First attempt was a total failure after 5 tries, the RPMs didnt hold at 7500 for some reason -_- ... Rode away from the 4-way stop defeated but curious as to why the @&!:/÷_ didnt work! Not a moment too soon after I said that the answer revealed its self, I just happened to look down at the left hand control housing and saw a 2 prong wire connection staring right at me... Sure enough after I got to the gas station I put the connection back in its spot only to realize it was the clutch safety wire connection :/ , hmmm thats probably why Launch Control never held the RPMs... After getting my drinks and triple checking the connection was secure, I went back to the 4-way stop and tried again... Sure enough it worked, it totaly caught me off guard as soon as I saw the RPMs holding steady at 7500 and I felt my throttle hit the end of its travel, that alone made my heart beat @ 900 beats per min...had to let off the throttle and try to lower my heart rate, baby steps are needed here I tell myself, next time I am gonna be more prepared to try Launch Control...hehehehehe that can wait till after this weekend of drag racing ?...
Lets see what this red rocket does...
And I tried out my new air gauge I brought... http://www.motosport.com/product/?adpos=1o1&cc=us&creative=188670676315&device=m&gclid=CM63sZX5r9QCFQEOaQodT5gLQQ&key=Motion-Pro-Digital-Tire-Pressure-Gauge&matchtype=&network=g&product_id=MP-PTG-002&psreferrer=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F&pssource=true&segment=badger
Now I can verify the accuracy of the Cyclops Tire Pressure Monitor System...

Nice trackday! I'd like to get my FJ on track later this summer.
It was a great experience... It was put on by a huge local dealership, wonderful interaction for my first experience with this particular dealership, the instructors are from an organization called Sportsbike Track Time, they put on alot of track days for ppl to learn and ride... I choose to ride in Novice as it was my first time and never been on a road course, they taught us the flags the tracks use for communication, body position, tips on picking reference points for corner entry and exit... The novice class was broken down into 8 groups, 8 being the slowest and most relaxing pace to 1 being the fastest paced...you can move up or down to another group if you feel the need... I plan to do a few more track days with STT... The FJ-09 is no slouch its just a FZ-09 in a gentlemans blazer ?... The speeds we experienced in our group was decent but even tho the instructors were over exaggerating the body positions it served a purpose to get us comfortable hanging off the bike...
The track I rode at was Grattan Raceway outta Belding Michigan... 3rd and 4th gear was all I used thru the corners with the exception of 5th gear on the straightway...stock suspension and tires set at 30/30... Foot pegs are a tad low, dragged the outside edge of toe a few times on the aprons but its not a crotch rocket so I stopped hugging the inside corner just a tad...

@David watch the sensor uint rock on its rubber pad thats on the heel guard, sometimes it stays, some times it rocks back just a tad or not enough... I believe the culprit is that rubber pad between the back of the heel guard and sensor... I have plans to remove it this weekend since my other bike is outta storage...
-
Yea...I just took the spring off of the sensor a few das ago... my problem is the whole sensor unit is mounted on a rubber pad that should should not be there causing the sensor to rock when the spring tries to pull the sensor to activate the brake light, it will work in my drI've way but as soon as I take a trip around the block with it they stay on 24/7 or works when running over a pothole or never goes off, got tired of messing with it every ride... it's a problem I will tackle during my next vacation week the first week of June, that rubber pad is gonna cease to exist soon ?

Nope...I live bout a quick 25min drive west of Grattan... I will look into Mid-Ohio...
I thought you were in SW PA? Come on down to Summit some time. Grattan is ok, but you really must try Mid-Ohio.Parked the FJ-09 in the FZ-07 spot in the garage for a few weeks...
I am attending the June 2nd novice class at Grattan... It will be my first time on a road course, spent the last 10-12yrs spinning laps/bumping bar ends on a dirt bike or hitting the drag strip...
Im lucky, 30mins in any direction north I have tons of ORV trails, 30mins west I got sand dunes of Lake Michigan, 30 mins south I got MX tracks and US 131 Dragstrip, 30mins east I got Grattan...

Parked the FJ-09 in the FZ-07 spot in the garage for a few weeks...need to start riding the ole girl again as I have a track day date with the ole girl June 2nd... I love both of my road bikes as they both fill 95% of my road bike needs... This is no ordinary FZ-07 as its got the Hordpower airbox in place of the ultra restricted OEM airbox for more mid-upper rpm performance with no power loss down low...Just like the FJ-09 airbox it's been engineered pretty good that using an aftermarket airfilter shows very little improvement in engine performance over OEM airfilter...
For those of you living around West Michigan, here is the link to the track days...http://foxpowerblog.com/shop/...I am attending the June 2nd novice class at Grattan... Sent a few measurements and pictures off to Higdonion to double check to see if the "trail cage" will work with Graves Exhaust...Also got 1 of 3 forum shirts I ordered in the mail today...
-
Burned up a few weekends of OT pay for some Higdonion goodies both upper and lower crash bars.. Michigan roads are now in the "after winter pothole season phase" and the crumbs the potholes leave behind, they look hungry for some oil pans and my lovely Graves Exhaust
Link to goodies... click on Forum tab at the top of the page...scroll down to Vendor section, maybe do a little peeking around at the other vendors..then you click on Higdonion thread...

Interesting bit of info on the valve stems... Define at " speed " ?I have Garmin TPMS sensors that bluetooth into my GPS great device I am surprised at how quickly the tyres warm enough to raise the pressures a few PSI. Make sure you fit solid metal valve stems as the rubber stems will not tolerate the weight of the new caps at speed
What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?
