After adding 1400 km last weekend in Germany I finally have some pictures worth showing:

    Here she is:

Hot setup with the smaller Puig screen

Normal setup with the standard windshield and the MRA X-Creen

    image003.thumb.jpg.e24b0b203e03df58e94d5b4e3c40bfb8.jpg

Small weekend bag on the back until we find a different solution (still hate the "kick your leg up between the bag end the tank" to get in the seat move).

    image006.thumb.jpg.fe0599c2e81df729979304fa20a89f20.jpg

The black HEED crash bars, kneepads for the tank and heel protectors

    image005.thumb.jpg.fda90add7f33aa1634447341c89ef16f.jpg

SW motech barbacks, handlebar bag and made a custom bracket for the windshield mount from Aluminum supporting a RAM mount that can carry either my TomTom or my phone via SP connect.

    image004.thumb.jpg.2f2adc2f5c947de3f65fde2537beddc5.jpg

Managed to get quite a few tools, ty raps, tyre plug tools and small other bits and bobs under the main seat for some roadside repairs that I would hopefully never need to use.

The engine is fully broken in and i could unleash its true potential. It's amazing! still need to work on my footwork. The back brake was closer to locking up a bit when attacking a slow speed corners from decent speed, will require some more front braking, and for this I just might want some extra lever te grip onto. I would have loved if the lever could be adjusted 1 or 2 steps closer to the handlebar. (hope some aftermarket solutions might enable this and not stay within the same range....

As for the other foot, had some false neutrals (need to put some more resolution in the shift) and while blasting from a corner didn't release my toes back properly to quickshift from 2nd to 3rd (as from 1st to 2nd is so quick and when revving up you get to 2nd to 3rd in a heartbeat, but need to disengage the shifter enough to be able to shift up again). But i'm sure this will grow on me quick enough.

I'll put some pictures up from the crashbar, barback + cable rerouting and satnav bracket Mods in a separate topic at some point...

Too bad we are entering autumn here, so sunny hotter days are behind us. Let's hope we can manage some nice dry weather in the next few weeks before PMS kicks in.

Nice. Share your findings also on the Dutch forum.

I am curious for the custom bracket you made for the GPS.

     Nice looking bike btw.

    Did you enjoyed the trip??

Your first link is -900, so not -9.

And be aware that the 2023 -9 has a changed windshield attachment. Read somewhere on this forum that it changed the length of the adjuster, lower or higher, don’t remember. So I am a bit carefull when ordering something that is using those bolts as attachment point.

According to the website of Cosmo, it should fit the 2023 9 GT. @SVincent was talking about the changed windshield adjuster. As i understand, the mounting points of the windshield are still the same, only the length of the upper part is changed.

That is the reason for asking..... Maybe someone here has mounted the ram like mount on a 2023 9 GT.

This one doesn't fit, if you select the 2023 Tracer 9GT. The one GIVI has, is around 180€ for both the bracket and the mudguard.

I will order one, it stops a lot of spray, so the bike doesn't get so dirty.

Prio one for now is a decent bracket for a phone/navigation. Still in doubt for a ram mount like bracket like This one or something like This.

Anyone suggestions on which one to choose?

Picked up my GT+ last Saterday as well 😊. First 400 km under the belt. Engine and gearbox need to loosen up some, but is expected.

ACC works like a charm, very handsom on highway parts.

Have to get used to all connectivity of the dashboard, but who is waiting for telephone calls and WhatsApp messages while driving?

Better sound that the 900, deeper rumble but not loud which I like.
Windscreen needs an upgrade with a spoiler on top to keep me out of the wind, but standard windscreen is a bit too flexible to keep it steady. Will need a compleet exchange of screen and spoiler. All in due time.

Only need for a good GPS mount. Interim solution is a ramball on the handlebar.

You did already 400km?? Overhere the weather sucked over the weekend so between showers i did only 100km.

I need to look for an mount for my phone aswell. The GT did not have an USB connection on board, so i ordered the optional one from Yamaha.

During the week i will take her out for a drive. Maybe later on tonight, just to make the 1000km.😁

    Congratulations!

I for one am eager to hear of your impressions (after some ride time) of how the new beast differs from the old one.  Especially what things are significantly different in both good and bad (if any) ways.

    Enjoy the new ride. 👍

For what i can say after 100km..... I love the CC. This works like a charm and is a nice feature for.long rides.

The sound is a little bit more raw/louder.

I don't know what to think of the T32 tires yet. Always had Continentals.

Dashboard is very nice, a lot of information, all you need to know.

Hopefully this i can put on more km this week.

I assume that you are buying the standard GT, and not the plus, so my opinion may be relevant. I have the '22 9 GT, and like it greatly. I had a '15 FJ 09 and a '19 GT 900 previously. Great bikes they were, but I think that the 9 GT is in another  class, with significant  improvements. The new frame and suspension provides significantly better handling and stability. The previous triple was great, but the new greater displacement triple is excellent. Overall a bigger improvement than between the previous iterations. I think that you will enjoy it greatly.

I think as well. Looking forward to ride the 9GT.

Today i took the my 2015 Tracer for a last trip to Germany. Hopefully i will have the GT by next weekend, as the dealer says.

  7. Today, after 15K km's, i decide to swap my 2015 "Lava Red" Tracer for an 2023 "Pure White" Tracer 9GT.

I enjoyed every km i put on my current one, so i look forward to start riding te new one. The 9GT looks an rides amazing and after getting used to the new front, it stole my heart (and most of my money as well).

I ordered the original Yamaha 34ltr (white) Topcase to go with it.

It is on stock so within a week, week and half i will be able to put on the first km's.

Are there more people here that made the switch from the 2015 to the 2023? What are the pro's and con's, comments and experiences. Looking forward to some of your comments.

Hi Vincent here from the, big part under sea level residing, Netherlands

Put downpayment on a new tracer 9 which will hopefully be delivered ASAP (can't wait).

Did 40k miles on my 2012 Versys (which in our very small country is considered high mileage) and wanted a change. Tried the vstrom 800 but couldn't get along with the 21 inch front wheel on higher speeds. Liked the peppy low down grunt, good suspension but detracted from the vibes and the mediocre quickshifter.

Was contemplating on waiting on the street version, but in the end the engine and quickshifter was going to be the same and aftermarket parts non existent. And I have tweaked the versys quite a bit, would take at least a year before the street version would have any farkles available on the market....

So the tracer tickt the majority of the boxes and the ones that were not can be retrofitted.

Looking for a higher and possibly wider handlebar (love the 95 cm wide bars on the versys) so might be popping into some old topics to ask some questions.

Will probably go for an Mra vario screen (coming from a fugly but very effective airstream, I am spoiled) and might be looking for a shorty for the hot summer (which makes the bike look damn fine!)

I had the fully kitted gt version of the versys but decided to not by the tracer gt because when I travel I tend to opt for the lighter softbags (need to work out how to. Mount my lomo medium and small bags.)

Will probably add a givi plate to the rear and buy a cheap topbox for the practical rides if I need to lock up somewhere or take my laptop or such.

Crash bars are most likely also in the list...... Wallet might be losing weight too🫣

    Hello, fellow Dutchman.

Enjoy your Tracer9. Now riding a Tracer 900 from 2015, but going te look for a Tracer 9GT (white one is sexy), so who knows.

  9. She is from 2015 and she has approx. 42000km/26000mile on the clock.

I did some investigation and checks on her, and this is what i have found.

Oil level when on the centre stand is neesly between the lines.

    IMG_20230524_192257.thumb.jpg.b9a5fbb0a6a5d8b3d22125b5da675c81.jpg

I took of the tank and opened the airbox. No excessive oil in the airbox, there was no oil residu in the airbox.

    IMG_20230524_194834.thumb.jpg.de1e5711015014f9363978668e052d22.jpg

Next i checked the crankcase breather hose and i saw it was folded.

    IMG_20230524_195400.thumb.jpg.f83220625eb1538742b881d1264fcf6b.jpg

I shortened the hose a bit, and put her all back together. When the airbox was mounted i double checked the hose, and it was still straight.

So i put her all back together and i will put in a new seal anyway. Hopefully it is fixed now and i can put on more km/miles on her whitout any oilspittingproblems.

    Thanks to @skipperT
