I made an appointment with the dealer as they told me it is not something I can easily fix myself. And of course it is a warranty thing.

Yesterday I did a tour of 410 kilometers and just 3 kilometers before I would be home I was caught by a massive cloud burst. And when I say massive, I really mean massive. Cars on the highway stopped, water height was as high a my engine and it became dark as if it was night.

So when I came home I was soaked. And later that day my brand new bike really was in need of some thorough cleaning. After cleaning I found this part on the floor. It's about 2,5 cm wide, but I can't trace it back to where it came from. Does anyone know where this belongs?

I received my new Tracer GT on Friday. Today I took it for a 400+ tour and noticed that the throttle grip has lateral movement (left-right). I can’t remember how much (if any) movement there was on my first Tracer GT but I got the feeling the new one has more.

Does anyone know how much movement there should be? I find it a bit annoying tbh.

There is at least one more. So 4.

I use the original engine slides from Yamaha and SW-Motech bars.

@Toddtr That’s a good question. My local dealer told me many dealers (including him) would rather trade in a bike that has not been upgraded or customized by the previous owner. It makes a bike harder to sell if there are “taste specific” modifications.
But I think most of the people that customize their bike don’t do so because of the value of the bike (besides the value it creates for themselves of course)

I bought the bike with some extra’s as part of the deal: LED blinkers, new Michelin tires,  Yamaha side sliders and a TomTom Rider 550 on a Yamaha GPS stand.

Next to the accessories that are part of the deal, I’m ordering separately some other extra’s:

• SW-Motech crash bars
• Mirror extenders
• Vstream touring screen + vario screen (this will be a temporary solution, as I’m still thinking about buying a Madstad. But a fellow forum member will get his Madstad sometime next month, and I want to see if this indeed is the best solution)
• Evotech radiator guard
• I will have the seat adjusted by a specialized company. I did that with the first Tracer and it was a huge improvement.

So, thanks to my wife who has supported me so much during the very difficult period I went through and who has encouraged me to buy a new bike (even though she’s somewhat scared of me riding a bike), I will get a very nice and complete bike!

The one thing I’m considering is a Roadlok. It looks like a very nice solution for an ART approved lock. Ah well, there needs to be something on your wishlist, right?

So, due to personal health related issues I sold my 2019 Tracer 900 GT back in February. After just 7 months of enjoying it. It broke my heart when I helped the buyer to load it into his truck.

Fortunately, things have changed for the better and I’ve ordered a new Tracer last Friday. I hope to pick it up coming Saturday. 

It is a blue one again (great colour for the Tracer....) and this time I will have the LED indicators  installed and have the standard tires changed for Michelin Pilot Road 5. 

Looking forward to riding the Tracer again!

I don’t want to hack the thread but I am a bit worried about these aftermarket exhausts.

In Europe, starting this year, we are confronted with the closure of roads for bikes that create too much sound. Some countries (like the Netherlands) close popular biker roads for all bikes. This is partially done because of the fact that some popular roads are getting too busy on sunny says and the number of bikers is starting to become too dangerous for other people (pedestrians, cyclists). But a big reason to close these roads is because of the noise bikers create. Other road users or people who live near these roads have been complaining.

Another, more worrying, thing is that Austria has closed some very nice alpine roads for bikes that create too much sound. And the issue here is that it doesn’t just effect bikes with aftermarket pipes. Due to the many complaints the Austrian (Tirol) government decided to close a few roads for every bike that creates more than 95 decibels when measured statically. To give you some background: European bikes are approved for use on the road if they don’t create more than 80 decibels when measured dynamically. Although static measurements are also registered, there used to be no real legal rule.

That is until now, thanks to the Austrian government. By closing roads for bikes that create more than 95 decibels statically there are now bikes that are road legal (so no aftermarket exhaust) but are no longer allowed to drive on these roads. To give you an example: BMW S1000 RR and HD Dyna Street Bob are amongst the legal bikes that are no longer allowed (but there are many more).

Now, this might look as a stupid action by a single government, but there are other European governments that are contemplating similar actions. They tend to listen to the complaints of non-bikers.

Although I believe that most of the bikers don’t have aftermarket or don’t cause nuisance for other people, there is at least in Europe a small group of bikers that seems to be such a nuisance to others that complaints are getting louder and louder. And governments act upon those complaints.

Let’s make sure that we don’t destroy the thing we love to do. Keep the noise down, at least within legal limits. Loud pipes save lifes is not really an good argument. Loud pipes seem to kill our passion if we are not careful.

I bought SW-Motech extenders, but although they were sold as fitting on my Tracer, they did not. It makes some of the switches on the handlebar inaccessible.

Mentioned it to SW-Motech, just to got back “sorry”. As my new Tracer will be delivered coming Saturday or early next week, I am looking for some alternatives.

Unfortunately this doesn't work anymore...

I had my previous Tracer 900 GT seat adjusted by a firm that is specialized in automotive seats. I asked them to make it a bit more flat and make it softer. 

To flatten it they used standard seat foam and to make it softer they used some kind of gel that is used for medical matrasses. Long story short: it was a huge improvement and cost me less than a Bagster or Corbin seat.

My new Tracer is due to be delivered within a week or so. I'm definitely going to that same firm again. 

I would gladly do this, just not with the bike at this time of year. My bike is in hibernation until March/April (thanks to the salt on the roads....).

I can however take a picture of a "below sea level" sign, it just wouldn't have a Tracer in it.

I wonder if the additional comfort compensates for the lack of proper fitting. Than again, it is all about personal preference.

I bought the (expensive) SW-Motech extenders, which are basically the same as the cheap Chinese copies. The only option left with these extenders is indeed to swivel them a bit.

SW-Motech usually sells properly fitting parts, but in this case I think they never checked the compatibility.

I tried to mount mirror extenders on my GT, but they do not fit. The TCS switch gets in the way.....too bad...

I asked Madstad via their website about this. No response. Maybe they don't want to take responsibility for future claims?

I think the seat looks good. But the fitting.......brrrrr. I really think they did a horrible job there. For 270 euro I had my original seat adjusted. Looks great, sits very good and fits 100% perfect!
