  1. yes and no,,i mean did before 1000 mile break in ,,didnt seem to make a dif on or off ,I kinda forgot about that mode ,,,Im not used to bikes with modes ,,,now with 1600 miles on bike i will try with tcs off,,the prob is i dont set off for a ride thinking today is a wheelie day,,set by default and cant change on the fly its kind of a hassell.Im still geared up from earlier ride,,gonna try right now ,will LYK
  2. how frustrating ,,,,,,However, the back end of the seat is unusable. ,,,sounds like the stock POS ,,,how much do you weigh ?,,im 165 and it feels like im sitting on plywood
  3. ok me again ,,yes im a pain in the ass,,,concerning chain slack,,my mt07 just used a measurement ,,,say 2.2- 2.5 inches to center of chain,,, but tracer manual calls for slack measurement ,,to get that does one pull down on chain and take measurement ,then lift up and measure and the number in between is the slack,,is that correct ? so if it reads 80,and 50 the difference is 30,. im i doing that correctly ?,,may manual says 35-45,,that seems really loose ,,
  4. hey so strongly considering the sprocket change ,,after 1500 miles im guessing for all the same reasons you did .Pounding throught the gears hard from 1st and up the bike screams ,,smooth and fast ,,and the quick shiftier is pretty cool,,but only when jamming through the gears . ,,BUT !!! say cruising along 5K and roll on gas hard it is not very impressive ,, just a big ol flat spot So i have three questions for you 1,,Have you installed that booster yet ? 2 ,,did you have to change the chain with taller sprocket 3 did bigger sprocket not only helped with excel but front end lift ??
  5. yup its in a mode all day long,,,wheelies in 1st are doable but thats it ,,I have tried and tried ,,,and im full rev and drop the clutch and pull up on bars ,,,,maybe 2 beers cans ,,helps if going up hill ,,so if you like to wheelie dont get the new Tracer with longer wheel base , mt07 was a great bike ,,but its gonna feel like a pit bike compared to tracer
  6. Yes Thanks ,,thats exactly what i did my second day after i got home with new bike .lots a practice ,need to keep doing it ,i still get a bit nervous on narrow road ,,or tight spots and people are around ,,im coming off an fz07 and that was like a tricycle compared to Tracer
  7. My Bad,,,i must of read it wrong,,unless you edit it ,,hahah,,kidding,,, measure once cut twice
  8. ok let me understand this and forgive me if im wrong ,,not trying to disprove anyone . so i am assuming lowering link refers to lowing the bike? ,,and my hats off to this guy at 5;6",,Im 5'10" and i get nervous at times ,,especially tight u-turns,, anyway if the bike has been lowered would not a 2x under stand make it worse ,,either you are lowering bike to ground or visa versa with a 2x
  9. not sure why you are making the comparison ,,its apples and oranges and about $10K more ,my brother has one ,,and its not cheap to work on.,$$ ,,,theres always gonna be something better out there ,,most of us would love to be able to afford it ,and a Victorian house , if you want the best you are on the wrong bike . or are you?,,watch this vid,,i love how loose his hands are ,and how he almost passes him on the outside ,the beemer is obviously faster but for all that extra money the tracer takes him on a stock $9K bike ,,, ,,,,dont let the door hit you on the way out ,,,
  10. have you tried turning the wheel to the left ,,opens up nicely
  11. Have you tried turning the wheel to the left,,,opens up nicely for key
  12. Its funny ,,my 2017 FZ07 was almost perfect ,16K miles at trade in and the only issue was after i changed the rear tire the abs light would flash now and then and sometimes make this weird whining noise ,,other than that no vibrations ,clunks, wheel wobble ,,nothing,,where as the Tracer has all this right off the showroom floor.,,however that triple makes you forget about it pretty quick
  13. hahaha,,no goldwing for me thanks,I will forgo the quirks ,I kinda remember my old Interceptor as you described here .theres a lot to be said about old school before computers controlled the bike
  14. fz07 was a fun playful bike for sure ,,i miss the low end ease of lifting the front end ,,and the ease of tight u-turns,Tracer freaks me out everytime in tight space and i shi#*^%#T my pants if its on an incline ,,but after a few hundred miles under my belt and the new motor stating to loosen up the FZ07 is sadly becoming a distant memory .
  15. yeah i heard about that Booster plug,, so what year is your bike ,,you mentioned warranty so its gotta be pretty new ,I have to say this Tracer is super smooth ,,your obviously familiar with the mt07 and what a herky jerky monster it was ,,even after the re flash which helped some but not nearly enough I just got into the habit of using the clutch all the time ,,the Tracer is nite and day,,its taking me awhile to get out of the clutching habit ,,,but it is super smooth,,really hardly any on off abruptness,,in fact engine breaking is almost non existing which i do not like . Bike only has 550 miles ,,i just dumped the oil and filter ,,chain had 50mm of slack ,,yikes ,,i seen some guys say 20-25 but i tighten to 35 mm slack. definitely made a dif.I may hold off on mods till next year,,I have other beefs as well,,slight wobble at 40mph,,a front end clunk now and then,,sounds like its under the steering head ,,and what i think may be the floating rotors ,,sometime s a clank with the breaks ,,i dont know ,,its hard to mimic ,and its hard to over look the annoying vibration at 51K rpm,,,,i hate that stuff.Enough bitching ,, its a blast to ride ,,i just dont like quirks
  16. Speaking of TCS,,does anyone know if theres a way to bypass the default ?
  17. according to the owners manual,,,,""" helps maintain traction when accelerating on slippery suface""tcs 1 minimal control,,tcs2 maximizes traction control,,,i dont think it does shit for front wheel ,,basically if you punch it on some wet oily road the rear wheel wont spin,, ,,,they make a point to say will not prevent rear slide out on corner and will not prevent front wheel slipping ,, ,,im assuming though if your on the gas say going through an intersection and hit some loose gravel it will engage. but it aint gonna save your bacon if your carving some corners ,i personally dont even like knowing its on my bike ,,I mean its nice to have but i would never assume its gonna save me and thats its ok to ride thinking it will. J.M.O.
  18. man im missing my MT07,,,,20 mph ,,drop the clutch and boom ,front end is up,,so before i say there is no way this front end is coming up more than a few inches ,,{ cause i have been trying } ,,let me ask do you own the newer model and if so are you able to get the front wheel off the ground and ride it out ?
  19. did i just feel the ground shake when that landed ,,hahaha,,i can do that all day in first but whats the point,,lend me the passenger and maybe i can do it in 2nd
  20. theres always some good size bugs stuck to it after a long ride ,instead of a bug I suppose it could be something eles that may cause damage ,,pretty cheep insurance if you ask me
  21. still has the white stripe on front tire ,,brand new bike,,mine looked that a week ago ,,hahahah
  22. ok so did it work,,can you wheelie ? if yes then please tell me how. I just traded my fz07 for a 2020 900 gt ,,,,now that bike was wheelie at will ,,well 1st and 2and ,,sometimes 3rd with some help from the road,,,I can wheelie the tracer {using clutch } 1st ,,but 1st gear wheelies are lame imo.Let me just say im not a big wheelie guy going down the street at 90 degrees,,i just enjoy a slight lift and riding it out ,,and like you I have heard the same thing that if your not careful you will be looking up at the sky,,and like you cant find anything on u tube . I dont know if it needs re flashing or what but this is what happens ,,TCS OFF,,A mode on ,4500 -5500 rpm and hammer the throttle ,,no way will it lift, in fact its not even that snappy ,,its actually feels flat and starts picking up speed ,, ,,very disappointing,,every bike i have ever owned will toss you back in your seat if you hammer the gas 2and gear 4500 rpm,,,granted the bike is new and only has 500 miles so i dont push it ,,,next scenario i try with the clutch which to me is the best ,,same set up only rpms around 3-5K ,,drop the clutch and give it gas yes a little air under front wheel but the engine is screaming and feels out of control and the wheelie if you want to call it that is short lived. This bike feels much more like a touring bike only ,, not a sport touring .it just doesnt have that torqueyniss {is that a word} One of the biggest reasons i chose this bike was it was somewhat of a hoolagan,,or so they say. Maybe they changed the sprocket on the 2020.?? I am dumbfounded. Thoughts ? Thanks Bill
  23. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEAL BREAKER FOR ME,, THANKS
  24. YUP THERES ALWAYS A TRADE OFF,,,iM NO WHEELIE GUY EITHER ,,IN FACT NEVER DONE ONE ,,NO GUTS NO GLORY ,,,I JUST LOVE THE FEELING OF GETTING ABOUT A FOOT OFF THE GROUND AND RIDING IT OUT,,THAT 10;S A LOT OF BIKE ,,I BOUNCED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN TRACER AND 09,, SO MANY NICE BIKES ,,,BE NICE TO HAVE ONE OF EACH,,,, haha THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME
