I agree. I like my dealers to offer a view of the workshop. My current multi-brand dealer doesn't offer that unfortunately. In fact, he's quite strict in not having anybody in or near the workshop.
Luckily the Triumph dealer does offer this.
Please keep us informed as to how you get on with the new bike.
And Amsterdam is great fun on a motorcycle, I had such a great race around the centre for 15 minutes with a motorcycle courier a couple of years ago. -
Don't go spending silly money on one....

Get a wee sheepskin pad, throw it on when you are going more than a few miles. Cheap and super effective. I did 300 miles the other day with zero numb buttox.

I'm inbetween Hitchin and Luton, so I'm sure your wife will know the area. I still see MK as firmly in the "Thar be Dragons" section of the map 😄😆
Wild. I worked in Hemel Hempstead for years, and lived in Watford, and then Aylesbury. The roads around Aylesbury-Dunstable and the likes are great fun on a bike.

I used an Airhawk seatpad on the last bike for longer runs and the tours that we did and found it really comfortable. I havn't used it on the Tracer yet because of the extra height of the bike but I have missed it on the camping trips because it doubled up as an extra pollow.
Definitely get a wee sheepskin, they are great. I also use it as a pillow, with a shirt wrapped inside it. You would never notice it was there from a riding position perspective, but the comfort level goes through the roof.

Looks fantastic, it's good to get out for a break. What do you think of the sheepskin seat pad? (it isn't off that £450,000 sheep is it.
I've had that old sheepskin for about 10 years, and it is brilliant for multiple reasons.
1. I had zero numb bum on the entire ride there and back.
2. It is comfy to put on the ground when sitting around camping.
3. It keeps your backside cool in the heat and warm in the cold.
Definitely not off of a £450000 sheep, can't remember what I paid for it, it wasn't much. -
Here's to your new bike. Enjoy every minute on it, and I hope it is exactly what suits your riding best.

Greetings Earthlings.
The weather report for my region was the usual boring and cool for the past few days, so I decided to make good use of the Tracer and head south to the SUNSHINE!Cadwell Park, motorcycle racing. Oooooh, yes indeed, that will do me.
Packed the bike up and headed off, almot 300 miles each way, mostly high speed motorway and dual carriageway , so 70-90 mph constantly.
My oh my, the Tracer eats long boring stretches of road with ease.Anyway, arrived at the campsite Saturday evening, around 7 pm, just before dark. Got the tent sorted out (takes about 2 minutes) and got the coffee on the go.
Sunday, race day. Lots of classes to watch, from 1000's to 300's, and there was a ladies race, with all sorts of machinery, even a supermoto (who was riding the wheels off of it!)
Really enjoyed the place, first time I've been to Cadwell Park, and the mountain is insane, watching them fly off the top of it, both wheels off the ground, great stuff.Best race of the day was definitely the ladies charity race, there are several 15 year old girls that I help out a wee bit, and they had a brilliant scrap all throught the race, never more than a couple of bike lengths between them.
Then spent the rest of the days riding around the area, and reading and sunbathing, 2 days of sunburn! 26c there and 17c at home, ha ha ha!

Was this in Scotland and do they smoke a lot of weed in Scotland? LOL
Aye, apparently farmers here really really like their sheep. I was sure it was in America as well. Oh, the ignominy.
More to the point, how did my nephew know about the price of a record breaking sheep, he needs to get a life ! -

I know what you mean Stew. I wish it had that Ducati Dry Clutch sound instead of a wounded animal sound, LOL! I got it with just over 3,000 miles and this motor has lots of sounds. Clutch works perfectly. Do want to do a slipper but for some reason 2020 has just been a really strange year. Always something coming up, central air went out, dog got health problems, over 2,000 bucks at this point on the dog and it might be 150.00 a month from now on to keep her alive. Her immune system is killing off her red blood cells. Steroids 2 times a day and another pill once a day. Plus a blood test to see if the steroids have kicked the immune system in the head. If the steriods stop it we will be back to normal but we haven't gotten there in 3 months. Just between the A/C and the dog I could have gotten a second killer bike......
I've never given a thought to having a slipper clutch , anyway I like that wierd chuffing, 40 cigarettes a day wheezy whiny bizarre metal dryish sounding sound, cos I know I am about to have some right great fun. Like I said, it's character, I mean imagine it was just boring sounding like all those overhealthy sounding motorcycles.
That is rough with the dog, it's horrible when a member of the family gets that unwell.

Brilliant bit of the country to ride around. Great photos , the kind that make you want to grab the keys and go for a run.

Hm, looks identical to my FJ - and the pump(s) shut off a bit early for me, haha. Have to squeeze lightly to top it up. Maybe you were at a pump that's not so sensitive?
Thanks
I was about to post almost word for word. Then I thought, hang on, maybe mine is the one with the problemIt shuts off early for me, then I do the same light squeeeeeez ever so gently till I see a wee drop of petrol just come over the one of the front 3 holes. (Hoping not to have a sudden hand spasm and ending up with a face full of petrol)

You're worried about after wash finishes? My last bike was washed twice in over 10 years. It felt so bad to get it dirty again, that I just left it. After a year or 2 the dirt sort of doesn't show anymore.

Apparently the sheep is a Texel. One recently sold for $450,000 (I kid you not)
my nephew just told me.

Good to see someone with their skills developed to that extent. Agree that it's good to practice. I took the bike out yesterday only for half an hour and a mile away from the house but spent about half of that time in a local cemetery car park practicing some U turns (its always dead quiet there). Don't think the car park is big enough and I'm sure I don't have the bottle for full throttle 2nd gear stuff.
I had a wee session in the local co-op car park after my ride yesterday, working on u-turns. But there were still a few folk wandering around. I might nip into the local police station and ask them if they know anywhere I can use without getting into bother (stupid cameras and nosey people spoil everything around here, its so rural)

You and me both! If you watch his more advanced videos, not only does he get his knee down with one hand on the bars but then he does it with a passenger and continuously goes into smaller and smaller radius. His videos are great.
They are, but my brain kicks in after I get over a certain amount and says 'nope, not happening, abort abort abort'
I am looking for somewhere decent to practice , so I can ignore myself and just do what the bike can easily cope with.- 1

It's definitely a whine noise. I am familiar with the manual APE tensioners and the whine when too tight, I just don't know if the whine I'm hearing on my bike is normal or not.
Record it, and stick it online for folks to hear.

Your not kidding, when I first got my bike I was on a road trip and when we started the bikes in the hotel parking lot in the morning, a couple of other riders came over and asked "is it supposed to be making that noise?". 🙄
I know, right
hahahaha, I love mine, it's personality, not like those boring Hondas- 1

Since I'm the A+ anal type and it HAS to be right I ordered an APE PRO $89.95 delivered.
Still don't know if I can ride till I get it. Am I too paranoid?
It's your bike, and none of us have heard the noise.
If it was mine, I'd be riding it though. Take it easy, warm it up properly, then try to focus on the ride, rather than any noise. If I open my visor when riding mine it sounds wierd as anything, whistling, whining, rattling etc. Last week I thought the camchain or valves were busted, as at around 5000 revs there was this horrific clattering noise. (It was the right hand side panel which had magically come loose at the bottom and was hammering off the crash bar
But only YOU can decide if you want to ride it or not.

It is a lovely track, but for spectators it is hard to beat Mallory Park. Super short wee track, but with amazing views for watching. I mean, at the bottom hairpin into the bus-stop you can just about feel the wind displacement from the bikes as they are so close.
Here's a couple more Cadwell photos for you then....
