  1. For me on my 2020 GT i only notice the abruptness in A mode. on a bumpy road .My hand moves the throttle on the bumps and hence the jerking .Otherwise it seems to fuel very well. My Honda ST 1300 was way worse , if you chopped the throttle on it ,it would almost launch you over the bars and very jerky unless you were really smooth on the throttle which I quickly learned.

  2. That's nice but to make it easy for me ,I made shortened Key that fits the bags and gas cap and always riding in the bag key slot so when fueling i just grab it and don't even have pull the ignition key! Works great. I got this idea off the ST Honda owners web site . Sound familiar Mellow ?

  3. Thank god for the TC modes . With this at least you can power the CP3 and hang on without worrying going on your backside. Its awful hard to resist the higher revs and generally are into them every time i ride my 2020 GT. Love it !

Always get off the bike usually put on centre stand and fill as recomended in handbook. One of My riding buddys always sits on bike but sometimes the staff at the filling station don't activate the pump if he is doing this. In all my years of riding I have only had one spill. On tour this summer the loaded panniers had let bike sit on back wheel when on the centre stand. As I fueled up the ballance point changed and the bike dropped on to the front wheel moving the nozzle away from the tank and spilling petrol down the tank and on to the hot engine case. I was glad I was standing next to the bike when it did this  but this woudn't have happened if I had been astride it. I will still get off every time don't particularly want to bath my bits in petrol if it does spill.

Wow your very lucky! Good info on what can happen if on center stand .You must have been barely in the fill hole and not paying full attention.  Whoops!  MIke.

  5. A lot of motorcycles do this ! Sometimes you can hold the clutch in for a bit before engaging first and sometimes it will go in a lot smoother. I found the best way to eliminate this is to leave it in first on startup. mount up, kick up the side stand pull in the clutch and your ready to go . No drama and no noise. Works for me and its like automatic for me now.

  6. Wow, and think your bike had already been ridden several times without whomever not even giving it a thought ! My pickup at the dealer was to my surprise the bike still had zero miles and had not even been giving a shake down ride! Needless to say I really give it a good look over.and a short ride to the nearest gas fill up to scope out even more . Lucky all was good. I just have a hard time trusting anyone working on my Stuff and as long as I'm able and have the knowhow I do my own work. Congrats on your ride and enjoy !

Lots of bikes do that, including V-Stroms, DR650’s and 400’s, etc.
there’s a primary nut, located just under the pivot of the lower portion of the lever perch -  which is responsible for the tightness of the lever (which 1more tightened). Then the lower bracket mounts on to the pivot bolt ( with washers) which is then secured by a second, loc-nut.

nothing unsafe about it, IMHO - when it’s tightened and greased/lubed correctly.

    -Skip

Got it but like you said ,got to mount it correctly!

  8. Fond this little jewel on Amazon. Makes putting in oil supper easy .It locks right into the hole and you can pour without even holding it. Didn't even spill a drop! Sure you can put a hose on a funnel but it slows the flow way down and you got to hold it while pouring in .

This is completely pilot error, but I'm putting it here so no one makes the same mistake.

Basically - I reinstalled the handguards for the winter but overtightened the nut under the clutch lever pivot. I had 0 free play and I was dragging the clutch.  Loosened it and adjusted the clutch free play at the lever and at the clutch.

It's weird to me that Yamaha bolted an accessory to a critical part but, oh well. There is a spacer between the clutch and the handguard mount that can be tightened (works like the mirrors) but that was clamped down, too.

What year ? On the 2020 GT handguards only attached to the mirror mount and bar end. Never seen any that would use the clutch pivot as a mount ! That would be unsafe!

Don't give up on Honda just because they don't have anything the catches your eye TODAY, they build some excellent bikes and have some new stuff on the distant horizon...

New patents show Honda working on a dual-injected, supercharged Africa...

There is also rumor of a possible 850cc parallel twin and who knows what else they have up their sleeves?

OH I agree Honda makes excellent bikes ,I have owned many of them over the last 50 years. As far as the Africa twin ,just doesn't do it for me .

I went to a BMW demo day today and was shocked!

The Germans have become the EU Harley maker!  There were giant 1800cc cruisers in the line up with seats a mere 20 inches off the ground.  Another new model looked like a knock off of Honda's Harley knock off, the FB6.  What is going on here?  Don't they know Harley is in a death spiral?

I wanted to ride the F900 there was only one in the truck and it was spoken for.  By the way, it is knock off of wonderful FJ / Tracer 900.

The huge finned heads on that 1800cc monster will touch down well before the foot pegs!

    Motorad?  Motorbad!

Agree, seems like sometimes they just don't get it. I was a Honda owner my whole life and when looking at the new models and the only one I was interested in was the NX 750 and came darn close to getting one  but spied the Tracer 900 GT. and I was hooked . Double the HP and all the Options got me on board with Yamaha. Honda lost a lifetime owner because their models just lost me

So, I have searched to no avail. Can anyone tell me where the flasher is on a 2020 Tracer GT? I bought the Blaster Tail Light (looks great so far) and Rizoma front LED signals. I also bought the Blaster Flasher. I assume the stock flasher in under the seat. Way easy on my FZ07.

Would have rather used a TFT Industries flasher but they don't make one for the Tracer. Probably the MT09 version works?

    Thanks for any help.

On the 2020 right in back of battery terminal side .about 1 inch square.    MIKE

    What makes you think that?

the bike is amazing. No problems just personalising it to my liking   I’m very very happy with the bike

Glad that you have found the gearing combo that works for you is great , but to say that Yamaha has geared this bike wrong is far from the truth for a bike that for probably 90 percent of the riders  the gearing works. A triple that loves to rev and actually shifts better in the higher rev range.I like the fact that you can pass people with out a down shift and  actually think the gear box spacing is the best of any street bike I have owned. Anyway to each his own and good luck with your ride !
