The levers came from AVDB MOTO in France. Off EBay.

Sound like maybe timing chain rattle. Just a guess. Do you have the manual adjuster installed ?

Enjoy!
Although I thought you meant something else by this post. In the Iron Butt circle "going to the dark side" means putting a car tire on your rear wheel.
That's what I thought also coming from an ST 1300 .some of them went Dark Side with car tires! Anyway looks like an awesome bike . Good luck.

Good idea... I might begin carrying a white pillow case and bungee cord to cover the windscreen.
I only covered the gauges and had no problems in 11 years.

The Honda ST 1300 had the same issue. And also had the warning of parking facing the sun. I rode to work allot in the summer so it would be parked for 8 hours , so I always covered dash with a white cloth big enough to hook under so as to not blow off . Keeps the gauges from fading also..

MotoMachines in Virginia sells Pyramid products
There is a replacement hugger available for the Tracer GT
I've had on on order however there was a problem with a few units breaking at the attaching point. I contacted Pyramid and they told me this;
Yes we have since bought our own Tracer in to complete the fix for this part (as it proved more tricky than we'd expected) and we are close to having a solution.
We hope to have it sorted and back on the market within the next 4 weeks - you will see it appear back on our website as soon as it's ready 👍That is the stock replacement for the original hugger. The piece I put on was the extension on the original hugger. Totally different.

Never really figured the Tracer would be good on gas and never seen much about it in all the reviews I looked at which was a lot before I pulled the trigger on a new GT , but I have been averaging 52 to 53 mpg and just got 55 mpg on the last fill up. That's actual not the computer . Mind you I'm not babying it either , hard to do anyway. But the highway will generate good return on the triple. I'm more than pleased!

Welcome and enjoy your new ride . You can go at least 200 + miles between fill ups now!

Where are you guys sourcing these rear huggers from?
I had to order right from the pyramid plastics web sight and from the UK so it took a little while but I feel worth the wait.

I like it Mike...
You just used the sticky tape?
Yep this is some super sticky rubber not foam so it should hold up. Comes with plastic rivets if you want to use .there was enough left over sticky to use again if needed.

Post a picture of your battery with the seat adjuster removed and we will be better able to answer this. My original battery is a Yuasa YZT-10 if I remember correctly.
Your correct on the battery and installed side ways at that . The 4 pads should be on the frame in either position.

Now that I,m over 1000 miles on my new bike , and getting used to it, I started to ride it in A mode and I swear it seems to run smoother with less vibration while cruising . Has anyone else noticed this or is it my imagination ? Don't know all the parameters that it changes but maybe more fueling or timing changes come into play ?

GTO MIKE... does this pyramid need to drill holes to the ori fender. due to excitement on my new bike, i ordered the R&G front fender which arrived today and looking at the instruction, it provide 4 pivot (dunno exact name) to drill, i wud guess all extension needs unless one change the whole fender.
The pyramid I put on came with nice double sided rubber stickies ,not cheap foam and plastic rivets also ,if you wanted to use them too. Didn't have to use them. The double sided method worked great! The trick is getting off the front fender ,unclamping the brake lines ,Remove the 4 side screws, carefully removed the plastic line clamps by reaching under fender with needle nose pliers to pinch the little ears to pop out of fender. Then I unbolted left side caliper to raise up high enough to be able to lift fender up forward and out. Reverse for install. How I did it anyway.

I have something very similar and they work well. I had to threadlock the screws though as they back out easily and I lost one.
Good advice on the thread lock ,. checked mine today and one was loose. Now they are in with blue Loctite. !
Thanks, MIKE

Got mine from Adventure Tech, but it was $29.95.
Wow that's a lot more than most ,unless its made in the USA. Otherwise they jacked the price way up !

Wow that looks crappy. I guessing there has got to be more damage to the other aluminum or metal parts.

Wow looks pretty bad ! Do you ride any off road or very dusty conditions? Looks some I changed back in my dirt bike days!

I can relate as well. The engine in these things is intoxicating.
I'm nearly 70 and this bike brings out the 19 year old hooligan in my like nothing I've ever owned. It's purely dumb luck that I haven't had a major ticket because I just can't resist the urge to dip into triple digits every time I ride the bike. And I probably shouldn't even talk about my passing technique...
Cant agree with you more , This bike was My retirement reward for myself . It brings back the fun in riding and that motor is a true beast. Feels like an on road dirt bike to me with the light weight and quickness but with enough civility to make it an all around great bike !

Some personal thoughts and comparisons between old and new

I thought the same on the thumbwheel have it on the left and switch the TC and ride mode to the right grip . Have to have throttle closed anyway to change those two . Yamaha must think nobody going to scroll through those while moving ,but I roll through mine quite often on the move . You can reach over on a straight stretch or slip into cruise for a roll through also. Just seems they didn't quite think it through!
