  1. I use and have used for years Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector on my chains, dirt or street. It dries completely and works very well. Never gathers dust, dirt, nothing, and the chain/sprockets last. The only issue is you have to wait until it dries, so I put it on after a ride and let it sit over night. Give it a try it works great. https://www.amsoil.com/p/heavy-duty-metal-protector-amhsc/
  2. I have an Adventure Tech light mount being shipped to me and have not decided on which lights to get yet for the GT. Had their light mount on my last bike, a Vstrom 1000, and mounted Denali D4's to it. Had them wired to the high beams so flip on the highs and daylight. Have tried to find other lights that compare but am having a hard time not buying the D4's again. They turn the night into day which in my area is a huge benefit. Not a lot of ambient light here unless it's a full moon. The Denali's have saved my bacon more than once during night rides. Came over a small hill one time that was going out of a small town and the lighting changed cuz on the other side of the hill there were no street lights as the road headed into a forest. Flipped on the Denalis and stabbed the brakes as there were at least 15-20 deer right on the side of the road. Idled past them Never saw them with the Vstrom stock lights until I flipped the switch. A light like that also makes night rides very enjoyable. Way less traffic, cooler temps, etc., they make it fun to ride at night. The only downfall is the bugs. Anyway I'm once again leaning towards the big money D4's.
  3. Also bought a hard copy. Not really a fan of trying to find what I need to know in an electronic manual
  4. Just bought an HJC RPHA 70 ST. Have not had a chance to ride with it yet.
  5. I have a GT as well and no issues. Bolted right up. An the bolts that came with mine needed no modification so they must have listened to @PhotoAl
  6. Very true. The Givi could be considered a true skid plate, able to rest the bike on it, where as the others are just guards. They are not meant for big hits, but good protection for street riding or the occasional gravel road.
  7. A further review. So again the SRC moto sump guard is very nice piece of kit and I'm happy about the purchase. However, the instructions (or lack there of) suck. I mean it's not a super complicated install but for the money it should have included proper instructions (instead of a crude diagram) with torque specs for the bolts and where to put the other set of spacers, etc,... Just saying it would not take a lot of effort to include proper instructions with pics and specs. With that said I can't fault it any further. It's a clean looking guard, is high quality, and looks great on the bike.
  8. So no listed weight but with the brackets and skid combined I would guestimate it weighs well under 10lbs. If the three brackets are a pound a piece and the skid is 2-3 lbs. My guestimate. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
  9. I did not weigh it before putting it on the bike but it does not weigh much. The brackets are steel so they are most of the weight. Skid is aluminum and fairly light. If I find a weight in the paperwork tomorrow I will post it up for you.
  10. I just received this skid and it is very well made. Was hesitant with the price cuz it is far from cheap but it is a top notch piece of kit. Very happy.
