  1. Welcome! If your going to play offroad like some of us do, get the best protection out there for your FJ. https://higdonion.com/products/fj09-fz09-xsr900-trail-cage
  2. I've purposely not responded to this until I had a couple of weeks and a few hundred miles on it to reply. I can honestly say the difference is rather big in my opinion. After ~250 miles of commuting daily I will say the seat is MUCH more comfortable than before. It took me a couple days to get used to it. Added height and a different feel for sure, I find I can actually move around on the seat easier now, and the pad (surprisingly, I might add) stays right in place when I do this. I was worried it may move about, but the strap actually holds it quite well. It's cooler in the summer heat, too. Seems counter to what you'd expect, but the wool traps air, which helps keep your butt cooler. Needless to say it's far more cushy on top of the stock seat, and although I have not run over 100 miles in one stint yet, my butt tells me this will be very good on long days with 300+ miles in the saddle. Highly recommended. Now I have to ask which model/shape you purchased? looks to form to the seat nicely.
  3. I have the same one in black, I thread-locked the crap out of those screws. so far they are staying tight...
  4. I have a Dainese Frazer jacket for riding. They don't make it anymore but I purchased it in Calgary like 5+yrs ago and its still going strong! Its worked very well for me, and has enough venting to keep me cool up to 30-35 Celsius or about 90-95F as long as your moving. I have it paired with a pair of the Dainese D-Dry pants which have the removable wind/waterproof liner. I've ridden in a good down pour a couple times and while I was wet right through the jacket, I was dry below the waist.
  5. The mirror extenders like these or similar also work well, but at a higher cost:http://koubalink.com/mirror.html I went with the similar but smaller 1-1/4 inch size from BikeMaster link Here's a pic.
  6. Washed the bike and then finally installed the cage/skidplate.
  7. If I ever get around to planning my trip to Alaska, those will likely be the tires I'd get. Looks awesome!
  8. I just took a wild guess at to what they could be used for, might spark an idea...I dont know what they look like...Pic added. It would end up sitting on the fins of the rad anywhere behind the frame of the guard.
  9. Wouldn't the foam melt from the heat? It does seem rather thick for between the rad and the guard.
  10. Micro bubble mirrors stuck on. and moved the Ram mount so it wouldn't interfere with the tank bag. Anyone know the purpose or location for the really thick foam that comes with the radiator guard? I had to add a couple extra washers to the top to better line up the brackets with the radiator mounts. And yes I'm aware it says FZ-09. lol
  11. ... I was eyeing this one (nice)... but the scrooge won, so I got the other eBay wonder with like a million screws in it. I will post it when I get it... even if just for giggles. Ya, for $18.55CAN I couldn't pass up getting one. Amazon link
  12. Today I shoveled almost a foot of snow off the concrete where I park my bike. Next week it comes out of storage! In more bike related news, I finally made up my mind on which tank bag I want, big thanks to the members here for all their info, input and pics. Ordered a SW-Motech EVO Engage tank-bag and mounting ring.
  13. I'm way up in Northeast BC Purchased mine from Holeshot Motorsports in 2015. Planning a tour down to Van area this coming summer.
  14. Finally got the X-grip tether part# Ram-HOL-UN10TU It also come in a few sizes depending on you phones dimensions. Its a silicon/rubber that fits behind the X-grip cradle and stretches over the corners of the phone to further secure it in the mount. I've never had the phone fall out or even slide in the grip while on the FJ, but I am glad I will no longer have to worry about that with this added security. (Also works excellent for the mountain bike as pictured, the FJ is already tucked in for the winter.
