buckeye4life
I did a search and did not see anything in the area of a throttle lock solution. Has anybody had any success with a throttle lock? I like the Break Away product, but it does specify a FJ-09 specific model, I would assume the FZ would be fine to use, but it is not compatible with heated grips. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Premium Member wessie Posted April 29, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2015 there is a thread http://fj-09.org/thread/668/throttle-lock with a recommendation from me Hint re searching: ignore that box at the top right of the thread - anything put in there is only searched for in the open thread Click the search link at the top centre that takes you to http://fj-09.org/search as this does a global search of the forum and has a load or parameters you can fiddle with - I did request some sort of clarification by the Admins but nothing came of it. Just getting rid of that search box on the top right would be the simplest solution. This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is. Premium Member bttrthnwrk Posted April 30, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2015 Go Cruise makes a throttle lock for 7/8" bar that sits on the handgrip rubber and locks against the brake lever. You can find it on Ebay or Amazon. One note - it doesn't work on top of a Grip Puppy, but it will work beside one, if you leave room on the regular throttle rubber. It's around $20 or so. It holds the throttle well enough to be able to stretch your hand, but it's loose enough that you can still twist the throttle forward when you want. It works well enough to make me think twice about getting a $350 cruise control system.
Premium Member paladin Posted February 17, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted February 17, 2016 I use the Kaota throttle lock. It works well with the hand guards. It takes a bit of finess to set it underway, you need just the right amount of tension. A little practice and you are good to go. I have hand pain, and this device gives my right hand the relief it needs.
Premium Member michael Posted February 17, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted February 17, 2016 I use the Kaota throttle lock.Kaoko, maybe? http://www.kaoko.com/ I had one on my V-Strom 650. Worked well and was easy to operate. Problem is, I live in hilly, mountainous country, and any kind of throttle lock just doesn't work very well unless you are droning on flat land with steady or no wind. Premium Member paladin Posted February 17, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted February 17, 2016 Then you need cruise controll not a throttle lock. There will soon be one under $
