Givi vs SW-Motech engine bars

Recommended Posts

It's currently a toss up between the Givi and SW-Motech engine bars.

Since these bar mount so high I am curious to understand how well (if at all) these bars protect the lower elements of the bike? Especially elements that protrude most such as the Clutch case cover?

I once saw a video where someone actually laid his bike on it's side to test the Givi bars and they held up, so, has anyone done/seen anything similar with the SW-Motech?

I'd also be especially keen to hear if anyone has had an off with Sw-motech or Givi engine bars? If so how did they hold up?

Have you given any thought (or know about) the Higdonion cages/guards?

They fit the new Tracers. In fact, Higdonion posted a photo of his Gen2 cage on a customers Tracer the back in August.

I have his Gen 1 cage on my FJ09 and have been quite satisfied with it.

Thanks. I had taken a look at the Higdonion cages however they cost alone works out at double the cost of the competition (SW-Motech and Givi). Since I am based in Europe i'll also get hit with 18% VAT, shipping charges and customs fees so I don't think it makes sense for me financially.
