Protecting the paint

Recommended Posts

So I have my new Tracer 900 GT, the bike is a mixture of shiny and satin. I want to protect the paint, any suggestions on wax or products?

Need to keep it clean and shiny...

On a second note, I was commuting home from work today and saw another brand new Tracer just like mine. But I was in my jeep and didn't have time to stop and chat...

So there are more of us out in the Wilds of Idaho :)

Thanks

Yamaha matte paint seems to be very tough. I had a 2015 FJ 09 with the matte gray paint. All it needs is a spray with a multisurface cleaner like Windex non ammonia spray and a microfiber towel to clean. No wax is needed. Wax would likely put an uneven shine on the matte finish. After 24,000 miles, my gray FJ paint still looked like new just doing the above.

I like 303 protectant on flat surfaces, doesn't collect dust like most others but it is on the spendy side.
Another good one is Lexol, again spendy but good stuff.

But really, at the end of the day, as kingfisher said, it doesn't take much to make it last.
