For the most part, BMW are reliable and their customer service is really good. My boss recently had the engine on his 2014 R1200GS grenade (ironic that I say they're reliable bikes but I use this as an example 😅) randomly. His bike only had 6k miles, and way out of the warranty period. A couple of phone calls and they replaced his engine free of charge. How's that for customer service.. And to answer your question, the S1000RR does have heated grips and cruise control. Unusual for a sportbike haha.

I talked to the wife and decided to pass on the updated model. The ultimate goal of mine is to pick up a 2022 or newer BMW S1000RR. Always been a dream bike of mine and with the new model looking as sexy as it does, I need to have one! I am just going to stick with this FJ-09 and run it till the wheels fall off.

Is there a law for when you buy something and then a better deal pops up? I literally just bought (2 days ago) a 2015 FJ-09 with 18k miles for $6k. Prior to buying this bike, I was talking to a gentleman regarding his Tracer 900 GT. He just messaged me telling me he would sell his 2020 Tracer 900 GT with 2,300 miles for $9k. Both bikes are stock. Worth the extra $3k to upgrade? Would love some feedback.

I have a 2015, so it will fit no problem! Not too worried about weight or anything. There’s nothing else used online, everything is brand new. Looking at $700+.

Has anyone seen a set of Shad SH23 for sale in the USA? Trying to find used before I commit to brand new. Also, anyone have issues with running a tail tidy with their Shad SH23 cases?

No worries, just something I wanted to bring up and gauge interest. All of my rides have been short stints besides a ride from San Diego to Sacramento on my sportbike when I was 22. Never doing that again on a sportbike. Also, here's the FJ-09 I just picked up! I look forward to giving it a try. I was going to buy a brand new Corbin seat but found one locally for $625. Going to see if he'll go a bit lower on price.

And I officially own a FJ-09! Picked her up last night. A little disappointed in her condition (previous owner talked super highly of it) but we got squared away on a sale price that made us both happy. There's going to be a lot of sticker removal (about 10-12 stickers on the bike) but the bike should clean up well. Let the mods begin...

Hahaha, all that matters is we have the same passion. I am heading to Irvine in a few minutes to go pick up the bike. Would love to join you guys sometimes! Maybe we can plan a 1 night trip somewhere. Having a bike like this means adventures! Short ones that is haha.

Hi all, wanted to bump this thread. I hope to be picking up my FJ-09 tomorrow. Would love to meet some SoCal riders and possibly put together a long distance ride.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but love the comparison! I will be picking up an FJ-09 soon (hopefully tomorrow) and have been looking at side bags. After seeing this, the SH23 is my pick. Love the use of large bags but I am using the bike to commute, so no need for big cases.

Haha you're correct, I'm a mod on the 600RR forums. Yea, I'm after the Tracer 900 GT but I might settle for a FJ-09 and outfit it with a quickshifter and cruise control.

Your opinion holds value as much as ours. So to say someone's opinion is wrong but your opinion is correct is arrogant. There are many forum members who are reporting issues and dislikes about their Tracer 9 GT. It definitely steered me away from one.

In argument, how does that make you correct?

Trying to keep the price down as I am also in the market for a 2020+ BMW S1000RR as a weekender/track bike. Ideally, would like to find a Tracer 900 GT under $10k or a well-equipped FJ09 for under $7500. With the market slowing down, my odds are looking good.

Why the Tracer 9 GT over the Tracer 900 GT?
