I added mirror stem extenders. Linked and pictured below. I had to modify the extensions. They would not screw completely into the stock mirror perch as they had no thread relief. Quick spin on the lathe fixed that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254555601399

I have a Russell Daylong on my bike. Which raises the seating position. The distance to the pegs was borderline before the new seat. Is it ok with you if I try to make my bike comfortable to me?

Any recommendations for higher footpegs?

I plan on replacing mine with an Antigravity when the stock battery dies. Never had one but several people around me have. They were happy. Welcome. Hope the new bike treats you well. Way back in the day I also bought a shed to keep a bike. Well before I even knew what was going in it. Month later I bought a bike to put in it. Next day it snowed.

Hate to derail this thread a bit, but, gotta ask. Since you have a Tracer and a SS950S, I'd love to hear your opinion on how they compare. I looked at a 950 at one point. Stumbled upon my Tracer before I could ride a 950.

Ive been able to find non ethanol locally. I've used that for the majority of my fill ups. I should have said that in the above post. E0 should be good for a slight MPG increase. I use it almost exclusively in my car. Which returns 36 mpg on my commute regularly btw. If I drive conservative I can get 40mpg. Just about the same as the Tracer.

Thank you for actually explaining it. This is my first chain bike that will be sticking around for awhile. I'm just trying to ask questions to understand what's going on. Opinions on chain maintenance seems to be widely varied. I've only put about 600 miles on my Tracer so far. When I got it the chain was pretty wet. The area you would expect to have lube flung to was covered in lube. To the point of it dripping off the bike. I'd like to keep that from happening again.

The computer on my bike is about 10% too high when calculation MPG. It's also about 10% low the gallons used. I wouldn't let the lower mpg keep you from getting a tune. I've never ridden this bike with out a tune so I can't compare. But I know with a tune it's awesome. If I have to pay 15-20% more at fill up, so be it. Totally worth it. I'll try to be more conservative with the next two tanks and see what I get.

I might be opening a can of worms here...but why a chain oiler? Does it really need that much oil constantly dribbled on it? It's a sealed chain after all. Clean it once and awhile and oil very occasionally and shouldn't it be fine?

I've only had 3 tanks that I kept up with the milage on so far. Each was 40MPG. Doesn't seem to matter how I ride it, I get the same. Ivan's tune. 20" Madstad shield. 30L Givi Dolomiti box. Stock exhaust. Various riding styles and types of roads.

I've decided to change the oil at 5K. Even tho the PO claims he did at 4K. I'll change again at 10K and send some out for an oil analysis. With that info it should be easier to make an educated decision about oil change intervals. Been out riding the Tracer. Still surprised by how much I like this bike. That motor is just amazing. I find myself giggling like an idiot in my helmet. I should start a thread to keep track of the bike's progress. Since the last post I have added the dark gray side deflectors from Madstad. To match the dark grey windshield. I've added some reflective decals to the rear of the saddlebags. My seat is on the way back from Russell. I should have it soon. I can't wait. I also added a voltmeter by Signal Dynamics. It's an LED that displays different colors for different voltage ranges. Bit dim during the day, but perfect at night. Is there any interest in a Tracer/FJ rally? I have hosted a motorcycle Rally in the spring for the current bike I own for a few years now. Would be in North Georgia in late April. I usually put together a ride for each day with food stops along the way. I haven't hosted one since before covid and thought its time to get back at it. Interest?
