  1. My $8 E-Bay pegs showed up today. I'll slip these on tomorrow & try 'em out.
  2. Inspired by your post yesterday I, too shopped online and found these lovely replacement pegs (albeit eight US dollars cheaper due to my fortunate proximity to the source) and they are already shipped to me for replacement. The vibes are only part of the reasoning I have to purchase these; I wear a size 10.5 / 45 Euro 4E wide boot, and with feet nearly as wide as they are long, they just don't fit comfortably secured on the narrower OEM pegs. The new pegs will give me a more secure feel when hammering through the corners. No longer will the outside ball of my feet be precariously teetering on the edge of my pegs. The fact that they are a direct bolt-on replacement with zero modification required is simply bonus.
  3. I use the center stand very often because that's how I need to park the bike. I don't have a lot of space in my apartment parking lot. The side stand is more stable though. That's all I use in my garage. Saves space and more stable. I'll use it in parking lots too, where level/stable enough.
  4. They were a direct fit, the only modification needed is drilling out the rivet on the left side peg...which is necessary to put any aftermarket peg in. Other than that, they worked out perfect. The best part...the $11.50 price tag on them. Say GOODBYE to vibrations! Feels so much better. http://www.amazon.com/Tengchang-Footrest-FJR1300-xjr1200-xjr1300/dp/B00H5JOAXM?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 Great, thanks for the info!
  5. Zach, any more info of those would be cool... Direct bolt-ins? No modification needed? Got link to them?
  6. Wish you were just a bit closer to Richmond. I'd love to have a sit on the Corbin and inspect it up close. I had a Corbin on my SV a few years back, and I loved it.
  7. Yep. Love them. I was having problems with my throttle hand, numbness and tingling. IMO Grip Puppies are the best bang-for-the-buck add-on I've ever found for a motorbike. Ever. I also have had the tingling, numb hand problem, on my FJ and many other bikes. Part of my issue is large hands, I have fricking gorilla hands. Anyone else wear a XXL glove? Yeah, this guy does. The additional material on the grips really helps with my comfort. Install is a breeze with some 50/50 dishsoap & water mix. Once you get the knack of it, they go on real easy.
  8. Big thumbs up from SWMBO 8-) LOL @ SWMBO... My buddy uses that one a LOT.
  9. I'm really loving the FJ09DF.... only 'those in the know' recognize the Yammer forks on the cowling. The less educated... left to guess. It's kinda fun, and cool.
  10. Congrats! Just wait a few months... you'll love it even MORE as you get the miles on it.
  11. Sweet dude!!! That may have been me!! (Hope I wasn't being an asshat... ;P )
  12. GREAT writeup... Laughing all the way through. Good pics & great info. And yeah, damn nice save. Only 1 in 100 people could have ridden that out!
  13. Grip Puppies showed up in the post today. I installed them tonight. Discovered a really neat trick to gettin' those little bastids installed easier. Soak the Grip Puppies in hot soapy water for a minute or so to loosen them up slightly. Just before slipping them over the handlebar/grip, lube the inside of the Grip Puppy around the top with dish soap and it slips over the grips much easier. Once you get it started on the grip a half inch or so, get a nice dry towel and wrap it around the Grip Puppy, then just gently twist as you push it on. SO much easier this way. Also soaks up the extra water & dries the grips quickly. I love them, this is maybe the third or fourth set I've installed on one of my bikes.
  14. Light a few candles, pour some wine, put Barry White on the stereo...
  15. Love my pussygrips. P-) Similar to grip puppies. Best. Conversation piece. EVER.
  16. One here, Richmond area. Where are you located?
  17. You can still post pictures using a link from a photoservice like photobucket, just not natively as premium members can. For example, here is a picture of a cute kitteh:
  18. That looks fantastic! So clean & almost looks OEM. Nice work!
  19. Posting a bit after the fact, this was Saturday but still happy with the results. Took a lovely ride up to the Blue Ridge Parkway with old friends and added 336 new miles to the clock, and broke the 3K mark as well. Had a blast, the FJ continues to impress me as a lightweight sport-tour platform and never ceases to be stupid fun in the process. It was chilly all day, I never once turned the heated grips off that day, nor will I ever own another motorbike without them.
