Here lane splitting has always been legal and 99% of fuel stations are open with full service 24/7.
No self service fuelling here.

Love the bike; hate that they hung the R7 name on it. I was road racing during the heyday of the late 1990s, and we still speak of the original R7 in reverent tones.
The dealer where I bought my Tracer had one of only 3 R7s in South Africa at the time, they had it suspended from the ceiling so that nobody could fiddle with it!

Link to the Cycle News issue...check the pic of Fabio Quartararo! 😲

I just read the latest issue of Cycle News and there is a ride report on the 2022 R7.
To be honest I couldn't believe that Yamaha put an R label on a twin! It's a pretty bike but....
Someone mentioned somewhere that this is going to replace the R6 in World SSP but I don't see it.
One interesting comment in the report in Cycle News is that Yamaha now needs an R9... based on the Tracer?

This made me think, I have terrible wind noise problems with my AGV Corsa R and the stock screen, even with earplugs it is not pleasant. I am 1.81m so almost the same as the graphic above.
I think I will try riding without the stock screen for a while before spending money that should be going towards suspension.

I weigh 110kg and my wife weighs 65kg, we ride 2 up most of the time. That's 385lb nekkid. I'm not sure how much the gear weighs.
Tomorrow we are going on a trip with the big Givi topbox packed for the weekend.
The suspension is standard and the bike handles and rides fine.

but what was that manual spec??
100Nm and I have an expensive Gedore torque wrench.

It's been a while and I'm getting older but seems like I remember something about wrong torque in the manual for sprocket bolts when I changed the sprockets on my 2004 FZ6 ten or eleven years ago. I went with a SuperSprox rear sprocket on that bike which was nice.
I had a 2004 FZ6 and when I changed the sprockets I torqued to manual spec and it was fine.

The only positive I can take from this thread is that the 700 looks more ridiculous with the Givi topbox than my MT-09 Tracer does.
Edit: and that matt blue is gorgeous!

Well, seeing that the thread has gone completely off topic, my June 2017 Tracer has 9,969km on the clock.
I ride it when I want to and that's that.

If I get pulled over, by the time the cop gets to me I have my helmet off and my licence in my hand.
"Good day officer" has got me out of many a ticket because my numberplate is illegally small but everything else is by the book.

My wife's comment about my bike - "it's ok now it has scars like you" she was referring to scars from heart surgery and to repair a shattered kneecap. Nice sentiment but didn't make me feel any better 🙂
Back in the day I had a Honda CB400N with Moriwaki 425 pistons, Moriwaki cam and pipe, K&N rear shocks and I was bullet proof on board. It ran both speedo and rev counter off the clock.
There was a new suburb near us with beautiful roads and no houses and we used to go and "race" on weekends, I had Pirelli Phantom tyres on the bike and the footpegs were worn down to about an inch long from dragging in corners. Invincible!
One day I threw it into a right hander, the peg folded but when the peg mount hit the road it lifted the back tyre and down I went. I slid on my ass and right hand, luckily wearing Bates shorty leather gloves but I had a roastie the size of a side plate on my ass as my jeans weren't up to the task.
My wife (then girlfriend) was first to the scene of the accident and she said "that will teach you" before walking away.

Hitting a deer is one thing but if the Niken forum member has needed it multiple times I'm glad he's still riding but he may want to consider something else
Like a bike... aka 2 wheels?
Sorry but I don't get the Niken AT ALL.

The only bike I have heard in my life that sounded close to as good as mine was the original Honda CB-X, that 6 cylinder could produce a howl.

What is a rep? He’s not the dealer?
Anyway, I can certainly understand your decision. After that long wait it would be gruesome to have to send it back for repairs. I hope you can use that 500$ to make it better than new. I also agree that it is a good thing that is has it’s first scar already, now you can really ride it. Enjoy!
I think the rep is the salesman at the dealer.

Congratulations!
IMO you let him off easy. They should be insured for this, no?
A gentle push from a truck made me drop my Versys on a grassy shoulder from standstill. Reparation quote 3000€. The insurance paid and I used that money to upgrade to my Tracer instead of repairing.I agree, I would have told him to take it back and fit new parts.

Second part, yep this is also in the cards this spring. I usually keep it pretty short, but gone is an option too.

Wash your hair or shave your head.
My head has been shaven for over 20 years, I have an X-Lite 802 that is more that 10 years old and it doesn't smell at all.

Looks nice but I am almost always 2 up so won't work for me so a Givi topbox is my solution.

I took mine off shortly after getting it because after riding a Fazer the bars were too wide to lane split comfortably, plus they look shit.
I fitted naked MT-09 bar end weights and all is good!
And, I never ride without gloves.
