I don't know how things are in the US, but here in the EU things are getting out of hand: roads being closed for motorcyclist, political talks of getting the decibel limit to 95 and later on to 80 (that is when stationary!) etc, just because of the nuisance of loud bikes.

What should be done instead is enforcing the law. We have already strict laws regarding the level of noise from bikes, but the chance of getting fined when one breaks that law are very small.

The problem is that a relatively small group of bikers is causing problems for other bikers by installing illegal pipes.

So unless an aftermarket pipe isn't louder than the original I would really urge people not to install anything other than the original.

Luckily here if the cops stop you they are only interested in 2 things: do you have a licence and does the bike have a plate.

My plate is waaaaaay too small to be legal but if I am stopped, taking my helmet off and having my licence in hand together with "good morning officer" has avoided any fines so far.

  2. I used to use Castrol chain wax when I first got my Fazer, then I changed to Bel-Ray, right now I have a can of Superclean chain lubricant. It sticks like crazy and doesn't fling at all.

I have a large piece of cardboard that goes between the chain and sprocket and the back wheel that I slide in when I spray the lube because it is a bitch to get the lube off the wheel.

I'm a bit slack on chain maintenance, luckily I don't have to deal with a lot of the road crap that I read some of you others do. I got over 40,000km on the stock chain on my Fazer which I think is pretty good.

Really just meant the whole super cold winter thing

What do you call super cold? I'm also in the southern hemisphere, we get an hour of snow every ten years on average and where I live, 26°08’S, 1,800 metres above sea level we get no rain at all from end of April to September. Other parts of the country have horrible cold wet winters and snow every year.

It might drop below freezing at night but can get into the 20s C during the day in winter. Perfect for year round riding.

    Check this out

We have had these in South Africa for many years, it's called a Lazy Lowder and I have used them dozens of times, it is the easiest trailer to load and super stable on the road. Can be towed at 80mph easily with zero sway.

Here is my bike on one of these trailers, it is not in the middle because I went to a friend and loaded a ZX-12 on the left side.

I've ordered a R&G fender eliminator tail tidy for a 2019 Tracer from twisted throttle. From the pictures and the pdf instructions it appears that it will fit on the older 2015 - 2018 models.

Why I did this is because that the R&G design allows you to keep the turn signals with the hard luggage. On the 2019 model. There are no guarantees that this will work with the older models.

One of the reasons I believe this might work is the part numbers for the arm that holds the license plate and turn signals is the same for all models and the plastic cover for the space over the wheel and under the seat is the same too.

If this is something you might be interested in. Stay tuned.

My R&G doesn't look anything like this, I have a 2017 and there is no way to fit the luggage with the flickers.

This looks like a better solution.

magnetic bags always try and not scratch putting on or taking off

The Oxford tank bag with magnets I had on my Fazer was used for over 10 years without leaving a mark on the tank, as long as I kept the bike and the bag clean there were no issues.

  7. When I took the handguards off I fitted end weights from a naked MT-09 as well as Rizoma grips and had to move the switch blocks out to close the gaps.

I just filed the pins off the switch blocks and tightened them up, no movement in 3 years.

The bars are standard so maybe aftermarket bars are slightly narrower requiring the fixes mentioned above.

  8. I had an Oxford tank bag with the magnetic mounts that I used on my Fazer and the first time I tried it on the Tracer I could see this isn't happening.

Now I have the Givi Tanklock bag although I hardly use it. The top box is more practical for day trips.

  9. I have 2 jackets, a 16 year old Dainese leather and a slightly younger Arlen Ness summer jacket.

I can't say much more than that except that the Dainese is black and white and silver and has a removeable zip out winter lining and also zips onto my Dainese leather pants. I haven't worn either in years because it doesn't get cold enough.

I have a lightweight padded jacket that I wear under the Arlen Ness if it is a bit chilly.

Don't take it hard, and she does look petite.  I'm sure my wife of +40 would envy her.

No harm no foul, it's fine 😊

She's 5'7" but she didn't get the tall genes, her younger sister is 6'1"

Together we are 175kg/386lb (without gear) on stock suspension but it rides just fine.

Good thing she's a petite thing with little you on there LOL!

SA is a very interesting country, filled with raw beauty and massive dichotomies between its native peoples and those that came later but who all love the land and desire a better future for all.  My youngest, a veterinarian, volunteered for a while in one of your protected wild animal parks.

Good to see you're up and at em finally!

Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean by a "petite thing" but I'm sure it's not a compliment to one of us!

Also, by the wear pattern on the tire, you can tell the owner is much more interested in the 'Busa looks than its performance.

It looked like the bike has an extended swingarm so it probably handles like a dog.
