  1. I also have the full Akro on my 2017 and it pops and crackles on deceleration but I haven't done any flashing or other changes from stock. I actually like the sound. In fact if I accelerate gradually and hold the throttle closed for a second between gear changes it will also give a pop.

What is this AIS of which you speak?

  2. I have the Akrapovic full carbon system with the loop which meant removing the centre stand.

I like it because it keeps the muffler short, I have seen Tracers with a longer Yoshi system and they just look.... weird.

  3. I have the full carbon Akrapovic and just the sound makes it worth every penny.

I rode the bike home from the dealer, around 15km, then fitted the Akrapovic the next day. Hence I can't comment on extra power but it is a hell of a lot lighter than stock. And louder. There was a sticker on the pipe that said "not for highway use". Pffft.

I don't like the look of the "factory" Akrapovic systems and I don't know what they sound like.

Saw this interesting video on the original trike, the Honda ATC All Terrain Cycle. My thinking is that although the new Niken three wheel design design that allows the rider to lean is fundamentally different than the Honda ATC,  Honda is maybe waiting to see the results through Yamaha before undertaking the plunge back into the wheels again.

One of my friends had a Honda ATC 250R back in the day, it was huge fun to ride but ready to bite you at the slightest chance.

If you got your balance right you could do monster crossed-up slides on sand but if you flipped it you usually ended up under it.

  5. Not all the fuses are mini type, the fuel injection 20A fuse is 15mm wide compared to the 10mm mini fuses used elsewhere on the bike. You can see it under the white cover in the photo below.

The main 50A fuse is a completely different type, see below.

I honestly don’t remember it being that difficult with the stock shock on my FJ, although I only adjusted it a couple of times before replacing it with an aftermarket shock.

So you have the bike on the center stand?   Definitely do that to fully extend the shock:  It gives you more room to work, and lightens the pressure on the preload adjustment collar.

no centre stand I'm afraid. I think I will take the bike for a service and ask the dealer to set the preload.
