  1. https://fj-09.org/thread/7263/yamaha-tracer-slipper-conversion-complete Ordered from here. https://www.partshark.com/oemparts/a/yam/571506ed87a8661278a05326/clutch Directions found here https://www.fz09.org/forum/14-fz-09-performance-suspension/24378-xrs900-slipper-clutch-fz-09-a.html
  2. Did the same job today... Not much to it really, opening the 30mm nut is the most difficult part... Next job is to put 2.5 weight oil in the compression leg of the Andreanis... I just finished now myself - kinda chili her in NY. Install went really smooth. Test run around the neighborhood was so nice, i initially thought I maybe did something wrong. Clutch pull is butter as well as the shifting, like to this point you can't really notice you hit the next gear - in either direction. I was strangely amazed at what $230 and an hour of your time could do to your FJ. I have the Andreanis as well and have already dropped the congressperson side to 2.5. I'll probably get the upgrade from Matt over the winter as he seems to make the Andreani's sing.
  3. I really like that blue. I have a grey ‘15 and will be powder coating my rims over the winter. Been looking for a subtle dark color. Will have to keep that color in mind.
  4. More like “What I’ll be doing tomorrow”. I’m pretty sure I have all my ducks lined up for this.
  5. Oh really? That sounds about perfect then... essentially the same fore & aft adjustment options as stock, but a bit over an inch overall lower height. I like! Question: Did you end up putting a sleeve in the riser to compensate for the smaller diameter bolt, or was it close enough with the hex socket head to not be a concern? I stand corrected on my earlier statement: I have a set of Tag Metal dirt bike risers on my Raptor/Interceptor project, to put a fat bar on the 954 forks and billet upper triple clamp. They wouldn’t be tall enough to work for this application on the FJ. Great information, @cuff ! Very much appreciate you sharing the knowledge. Just ordered a set. I’ve been searching for a while too and this post sold me on these. Can’t go wrong with a $27 experiment. For me when I added the GPR stabilizer it also added about 1/4” to handlebar height. So for me to bring the height down is key.
  6. this happened. Oh Yamaha, why not just contract these folks out and let them make your chain adjusters? Not only are the stock ones crappy, they are about impossible to get right and therefor a pain to boot. $120 well spent.
  7. For a moment wished my FJ was a KZ. I'm 51 and the very first bike I went over 100mph (112 to be exact) on was a 1977 Kawasaki KZ900. I was 12 at the time and was a passenger - something no parent in a million years would allow a 12 year old to do today. We have a drive-in bike / bar park in Rochester and when I saw this pull in yesterday i was overwhelmed with "blast from the past" emotions. Immediately went over and talked to the owner, as I wasn't sure if it was brand new or in fact a 1977. It's a pristine 1977 - immaculate would be a better description. Motor just rebuilt and bored out - so now it's even faster than it was. - lol.
  8. For anyone wanting to know what the Yohismura R77 sounds like here is a link to my Flckr page - Yoshimura R77 Went out for a ride yesterday
  9. From your description, I cant tell if you really like it or not. You say its not a huge change from before then list several areas where it is greatly improved. Does Ivan's flash get a thumbs up or just a "Meh?" Now that I have more time of Ivan’s ECU flash, Eff’n love it. No comparison to where I was before. It every area.
  10. From your description, I cant tell if you really like it or not. You say its not a huge change from before then list several areas where it is greatly improved. Does Ivan's flash get a thumbs up or just a "Meh?" No question I like it. Well worth the time spent looking around and def what I was expecting to get. I’ll be more impressed when I get my wrist retrained (2300 miles before Monday, all in 6 weeks). Went around a corner in first gear “A” mode and I would have had some real reservations about that before Monday. I’ll report back after the weekend when I have a few hours riding.
  11. Well, sent ECU to Ivan’s Monday overnight. Was flashed and back to me within the day and back in my hands today. Rained Monday and Tuesday so I didn’t miss a day. Bike back together and spent maybe 30 minutes riding. First impression is... very nice change. Not night and day from before, but really smooth. Like going from a $5 bourbon to a $500 bourbon, they are similar, but not really. Noticeable immediate difference for me, shifthing throigh the gears is like butter. Rev on downshifting is also like butter. Bike came back in A default mode, which I stayed away from before. Probably never leave A mode again unless I have a passenger. Throttle jerky-ness greatly reduced. Greatly. Strange to me, I smell more sulfur/exhaust out of Yoshi where I have never smelled anything before. Guessing that is new fuel map/Yoshi and O2 sensor being disconnected (per Ivan’s directions). I have read a few posts on the FZ site where a few have implied they think they lost something with Ivan’s flash. Most responded with “don’t confuse smoother” with power loss. I have to concur. It doesn’t feel the same as before because of fuel maps, but when I rolled through 2nd to 3rd and realized how fast I was going..well smoooth.
  12. I went with Ivan's. Sent overnight - so they should have it tomorrow and hopefully back to by Friday. Thanks for all the input(s)
  13. ill let you decide the order of today’s pictures. Not easy pulling the brains out out your only friend. However, stocked to see what’s she’s like when I get her back. Really really torn between Ivan’s and 2WDWs. Have read extensively everything available in all sites and both webpages. I live in NY, 5 hours away from Ivan’s and even thought about driving my car down and making it a day. 2WDWs sates quick shift capable, where Ivan’s does not. But from what I can tell, anyone who has had the ability to do an AB test always says Ivan’s wins. I have a Yoshi pipe and KN filter. That’s it. Any nudging in either direction would be appreciated. I’ll leave the address off the box until I mail early tomorrow morning.
  14. It’s not that much louder than stock, just tuned in a different octive. Nothing in my immediate opinion would think you would have an issue at all. Every Indian I’ve ever heard is still louder. ?
  15. took the afternoon off and then this happened. Nice low growl. ECU flash next week and the only thing left is, rear shock, cruise control, rapid shift kit, seat, ....... I guess it never stops.
  16. [/url of course it make sense to remove the hand guards just as the weather here in NY gets chilly. Bar ends today. Liked the look of the stock guards, but equally like this look. I left the mounts on, just in case I decide to go back. It’s getting colder here in NY
  17. Where you send it? I need at least 3days of rain in forecast before I’m willing to do without.
  18. When you get it installed and have a good test ride, please post up your impressions. A pipe is about the only thing I haven't done to my bike and I am weighing my options. Will do. It’s gonna be a hard assessment as the 2WDyno flash happening at the same time will cause many positive changes at once. More to come. Glad I joined this site. Learned 3 plus years of experience and know how for a brand new ‘15 I’ve owned for 8 weeks now. Priceless. Not to mention $6878 with warranty, with all the additions I’m still below MSRP.
  19. I just hit my speed limiter with zero, and I mean zero shake. Felt like my ZZR 600/ F3 and less like a touring bike. Dropping the front end 15mm was huge. Really planted now with all the changes I have made.
  20. well this showed up today and I was going to put it on and run without a flash until I had a few days of rain in the forecast so reduce no riding time. Days are limited here in Nee York. Lol. Glad I called Two Wheel Dyno. Those guys know their ship. Asked if I could run the bike without flash for a week or two. Answer is yes, but strongly advised against. So, pipes have to wait till I see at least 2 days of rain in the forests. For those of you in North or South Carolina, sorry for my last rain comment.
  21. Interesting. Thanks for the info. Will def try that. I will say that the GPR damper did not solve the shimmies as I just had them visit me. Still convinced that depending on speed and wind direction the hand guards are causing aero issues at higher speeds. However, the GPR makes the bike feel much better in terms, well not sure how to explain. Just better and more solid.
  22. Indeed - Added the Andreani cartridges last week. Love them so far. Had to pull the compression side and use 2.5 weight fork oil as a temporary fix to the harshness of that side. Will add the Pattonme kit when the snow flies here in NY. I know shocks are all subjective, but a big improvement over stock. I'm adding Yoshi full exhaust tomorrow.
  23. GPR V4 stabilizer. No more shimmies. Convinced that the FJ becomes quit susceptible to aerodynamics over 100. The hand guards alone are not ideal for high speed. I’m convinced that is why the FJ is speed limited to 113 here in the states. It’s probably a known issue in the Yamaha camp and was easily noticed during any wind tunnel tests and this reduces liability.
