  1. Mine started after 98 days in a very cold garage in a microsecond. Best cold start ever. All I had to do was blip the start button and she started up instantly.
  2. @texscottyd @maximosure. Give me a day or so to take some pictures to best describe why this is a no brained swap. Lol.
  3. Baffel on the FJ specic Yoshi pipe is not meant to be removed. You’ll have to drill. However, there’s no need. That pipe hums regardless and it’s plenty loud with a great growel. However make sure you really inspect the welds on the header. I have one (purchased in October 2018) and it’s headed back for warranty. Search my previous posts for what I’m talkin about. I’m sure the issue is “isolated “ to me, but make sure you have a proper weld. Also, when you first fire the bike up with new exhaust.... here me our here.... douse it in rubbing alcohol (the header) and make sure you clean every possible oil mark left behind. And that includes your fingerprints. Dry off and wait a bit. The colors on the header after the first heat break in are awesome. Any oil left on pipe before this step will bake in forever and look like monkey arse.
  4. I'm not sure what crack addiction feels like but I can attest to the addiction of removing stock parts from an FJ-09 and adding some bling. Rizoma Circuit 959 Reflectors - if it wasn't 12 deg Fahrenheit, i'd give you a report on what the world looks like behind the bike.
  5. When I installed my slipper clutch about 3 months ago, i tossed in a mouse carcass as well. I feel much better now hearing the rattle (both before and after the slipper install) knowing that it's mouse bones - I don't even notice it anymore.
  6. Speaking of that. What pads and rotors you running? Been meaning to ask you
  7. Santa brought me my last major upgrade to my bike. Bye bye stock windscreen. Hello Puig.
  8. The Yin / Yang of life. One makes the bike go fast, the other makes the bike go slow.
  9. Last string I read this morning was nothing but folks complaining. The world is already too dark to complain about a webpage that lives and breaths by contributing members. Maybe I’m the one who is too grumpy. Lol.
  10. While some of you who clearly don’t know ship about migrating platforms, whining about loosing old threads and threatening to leave the forum, please do. You clearly don’t belong and only look to suck the value out of those who do belong. You are clueless. This move from the old platform to the new one was more complicated than your minds are capable of comprehending. It ok your mom still loves you To those of you complaining about excessive adds, it’s a quick $50 fix. Meanwhile, I was onto more important things in life and installed this. I actually read a review on this by a kid who bought it for his Kawasaki. He said “I saw this and figure I’d would look great on my bike. I was disappointed when it arrived and didn’t fit my bike like Razoma indicated. The little black tab sticking out was catching on the motor case when I was trying to screw it in”. I’m like hmmmmm, “The yellow one is the sun. The yellow one is the sun”. Seems like maybe a few of them have since purchased FJs ans joined the group
  11. Done. Thanks for the easy migration. At leas “easy” from my end. Peace.
  12. Is that a YA535?Indeed - SportBikeUnlimited has them at $749 at the moment. Pulled the trigger last week and 5 days later it showed up. It's bittersweet as this was the last major mod to the bike. Purchased new end of September (was a left-over 2015). Since then: Shorty Levers, Andreani cartridge kit, dropped tripple-tree 15mms, GPRV4 stabilizer, Yoshi fender eliminator, removed hand guards, full yoshi R7 exhaust, Ivans ECU Flash, Giles chain tension, Slipper clutch, Rizoma MA006 bars with Rizoma grips and bar ends, and last but not least - YA535. Seat and windshield are last two.
  13. Black Friday Delivery. Install was a breeze. Now if the temps would just get out of the 40s (Fahrenheit) I could see how it feels. Bouncing up and down on it it the garage was awesome. Almost made me forget how awful the stock seat is.
  14. This might be a dumb question but are the MA006 ends threaded to accept the Yamaha hardware? Sadly enough they are not threaded at all. Would be easy enough to tap if needed.
  15. For anyone who has been eying the Ohilns YA535 as I have, superbikeunlimited has them for $749 (15% off their regular price). Best price I have seen so far, which is why I just ordered one. CORRECTION. Price today is back at 850. I must have hit a sales window or something because ive been watching the price of that for a while.
  16. It looks like you are still using the original clutch cable, the newer revised cable doesn't have the odd bends in the upper cable which can cause fraying. Just ordered - thanks for looking out for fellow riders.
  17. Hey, What's your take on the GPR damper? Worth having? Does it help with high speed weave? Well stupidly I made three huge changes at the same time that would affect the wobbles. Which I did run into a few times on the stock setup. I removed the hand guards, dropped the forks 15mm from the top of the triple tree, and added the GPR all within the same weekend. Although I have ran into a few wobbles since, nothing like it was. The damper is great and I like the ability to dial in a heavy feel when turning corners as slow speed. Wobbles confuse me as I watch MotoGP racing and those racers run into them once in a while as well. Albeit at much higher speeds, but there does not seem to be an exact cause.
  18. Thank you! an inch per side should I have said on the width. This is the closet feeling to my crotch rockets without the need to lay down on the tank. Hoping for one more 50 deg day before the some falls for good to see how that feel on the road.
  19. Sweep looks good... is that MA006? I have risers, so clearance to tank won't be an issue... concerned about the tank bag maybe. Indeed the MA006 - it was shorter that the MA009. The bar is about an in less width than the stock as well.
  20. New flight deck complete. Did a lot of looking around at various risers and such. Really wanted to lower the bar to a more aggressive feel. Ended up settling a Rizoma bar that delivers everything I wanted. Lower and better sweep on the bars. No more chicken-wings while riding in a tuck. These just clear the tank dressing by about 1/4-1/2 inch. I can tell you riding it on my garage on the center stand going vroom vroom was really really comfortable - It's snowed yesterday.
  21. Yes it will flick everywhere! I would be using a heavy diff oil like 90w or 90w140 instead. I like them better than the spray on ones as they go nasty and tacky.I use chain wax. Way better than oil and no mess. Bell-Ray. Stiff is great.
  22. pimping out the flight deck. Sadly enough won’t be able to report back until May. Lol. Winter seems to be knocking at our door here in NY
  23. The Assist/Slipper clutch really is a nice upgrade isn't it? The transmission seems so much smoother. I have heard that Matt can really transform the Andreani's, I got his advanced fork upgrade and it is VERY nice. What do you have planned for the shock? Indeed the clutch is fantastic. Sad thing for me is, much like GOT, “Winter is Coming”. Hopefully get one more day to at least go ride and dodge the deer running all over the place. Lol. I beliebe Matt has a mod kit for the Andreanis which include some re-vavling and added piston. I’ll pull the shocks when the snow flies for good and remove the Andreanis. Not sure if I’ll send him the cartridges and have him install, or try it myself. I’m pretty good about trying justice about anything, but when it comes to some thing like shocks - they are a science. Would rather have an expert do the work. Otherwise I’ll be wondering on every bump if I did something wrong. That upgrade, coupled with the Ohlins 535 should ware this beast up yet another notch.
