  1. Was just looking at a used VMax on Craigslist. Glad I read this post.
  2. Rode 203 miles Saturday down through the Finger Lakes. Today it's raining. boo. D-Air jacket is breaking in nicely. It was 95deg f when I rode Saturday and I will say the jacket breathes like a regulator on a SCUBA tank. as much or as little as you want, all controlled by how fast you are moving. Sitting at the gas station waiting for all the Harley's to gas up (lol) I got hot, really hot. However those around me wearing t-shirts were not too.
  3. My 2015 factory warranty is up in a week. Bigger question is what mods do we know if that will in fact void the warranty?
  4. The Healtech QS lets you adjust cutoff values and delay from the start of the shifter being activated for 6 or 7 independent RPM bands. Once dialed in, will shift like butter in all gears. However you need to be somewhat consistent in how you use it. I love it. And I’m glad I never purchased the stock QS I could have for my 2015. Sounds like they are not ideal.
  5. 99% sure it’s sold to another member. I’ll know by mid-week.
  6. For $400 buck you could have mine. But I’m done trying to explain the everyone the effen pin hole is exactly that. I was fortunate they warrantied and trying to pay that forward here. Anyways. Cary on. Go deal with a completely unknown seller and spend away.
  7. Nope. Not sure about much these days. Was hesitant to post that, but for some reason I though side stand. However the manual also says 2-3mm of slack. Lol. But you are correct. Just looked thanks for the correction
  8. Chain slack should be set with the bike on the side stand. Rider sag and chain slack two different things.
  9. I’ve said 8.5 times now on the blog that chain tension is KEY to this bike in particular. Anyone reading this now and your bike feels great, go measure your exact slack and write it down. The 1st time the bike “feels” and sounds different check slack.
  10. Jacket arrived today. Kinda timid with a $1200 jacket that wife knows nothing about. Sold my son on the investment immediately. Lol. It’s been registered and is charging via USB. More to come for sure. I can’t function well on my iPad as I can on my laptop. First time zipping it up was interesting to say the least. So how does one review an airbag jacket??? I guess I need to go out and do one of the following: High-side myself, low-side myself, T-bone someone, or get rear-ended. I can handle 3/4 there. Anyone here want to rear-end me? Wait that did NOT sound right, but I think you all get the picture.
  11. My exhaust would look really good on your bike. Just saying. Lol. Nice trip.
  12. Just dropped $1200 on a Dianese Racing 3 D-Air jacket. Could not justify spending $600 on my helmet while not equally complementing with the latest state of the art protection which covers an many other vital organs. Even the deductible on my insurance warrants the extra 500-600 of protection over what I wear today. Give a review after I get it Wednesday.
  13. Hit 136 MPH on the seedo with absolutely no head-shake except for my hands. Dam that’s fast. I can see where the 320mm rotors would come into play here.
  14. Stock chain tensioner belongs in the garage with the rest of the stock crap Yamaha neglected to keep in-line with what this bikes performance. Giles make top of the line chain tensioner for this bike. I have one. I know nothing about chain moving while tightening axel bolt. Lol.
  15. Indeed they do. All tucked nicely behind the master cylinder.
  16. I can’t say enough how important chain slack is to this bike in particular. It is one of the fundamental adjustments and effects a lot on this bike. Case in point. I just installed these two days ago. Had to pull the swing arm pivot rod out as part of the process. It slides right out with the proper tension of the rear wheel. All back together. 1st ride. Love the rear set. But the bike did not feel normal at all. Clutch felt like it was catching hard, bike was jerking on engine braking. All wrong. WTF I say. Drive back home. Look at chain and say “that seems a little loose”. Yup. Probably 2-3mm tops slack added due to the swing arm removal. Set it back my normal, got on the bike and was like and immediately after leaving the driveway, bike was back to its old badass self. Booting new kicks.
  17. How much $$ if you don’t mind me asking. I have a friend who has owned over 32 bikes in his lifetime. Hs said this bike is the best kept secrete out there. You won’t be disappointed.
  18. $400 plus shipping for anyone on this site. US only. Shipping to Canada is possible, but taxes and duties will hurt you. Just went threw that with another member who was going to drive over the border in S Dakota and pick up at a parcel location. The cost went beyond what he was hoping for. But I’m open to anything. FedEx tracking provides unparalleled insight into when your package will be... Here is the link my original shipping details. It has weight and dimensions for anyone looking and wondering about shipping costs

  20. Thanks. Like I needed to spend another $200 bucks. Hope my exhaust sells fast. Lol.
  21. It’s simple common core math here in the US. Miles since last fill-up, divided by what goes in, equals liters/gallons per mile. You should never trust any electronic gauge. Taste test always best.
  22. My nephew Preston grabbing a handful of throttle. Was priceless the expression on his face when the bike hit the rev limiter. Made my heart full. Love family. Love bikes. Love life.
  23. Discovered a slight, yet puzzling head shake at 132MPH. Puzzling because there are so many possible culprits. All discussed to nausea on this forum. I’ve even started a few threads. I’ve got this bike so dialed I’m not say I’m overly concerned especially given the speed. Just would rather do without. Too many other things to concentrate at that speed. Like “What the heck am I going to have for dinner tonight”.
