Just curious, do other manufacturers not have the full level indicator?  I have never seen a bike that doesn't have this, how would you know when you overfill the tank?

I have never had a bike that has this inside it. I did have a Tuono that simply had a hole just big enough to fit the nozzle in, but other than that, *all* of the motorcycles I’ve owned simply has a wide opening once you open the cap.

As far as knowing not to overfill, just leave a gap and don’t fill it all the way up the neck to the top. Simple really.

And for those that stupidly fill their tank with diesel, well here’s your sign. You deserve it. Diesel nozzles are different colors, for one.

  2. Jesus guys. They say they’re going to fix the ones they’ve sold so far and are halting sales temporarily and that’s “piss weak” and a “vague admission”?

Call me a fanboy of you like, but they could have said to go pound sand and fixed it quietly. Sure, the slope needs fixing on mine, but I’m patient if someone owns up to it.

Talk to me about this short love affair. I just spooned on a set of S21's to my '15 - I got a killer deal that I couldn't pass up - and I'm wondering about your experience.

I only said short because I usually buy dual compound sport touring tires. The rear S21 lasted me 5000 miles, which I guess is good. I’m usually very good at making tires last longer than most for whatever reason.
I just bought a set of PR5’s since Michelin has a rebate going on right now. I was goi g to buy another S21 (or the new S22) rear because the front is still in pretty good shape.
As far as my feelings on the S21, I loved them. They came recommended by a friend who is an aggressive rider like me and said he had a set on his FJ. They stick very well and heat up quickly for a street riding. I’ll find a picture I took of the front and rear after just three passes on Blood Mountain in N GA back in July.

  4. I have one of the first Sargents and I’d give it a 9/10 for everyday riding and a 5/10 for twisties.
I took a 600 mile ride last Saturday and Sunday to the mountains. The ride up there and back was wonderful. I never felt the need to shift around while slabbing up and back. Once in the curvy roads is a different story though. Each time I’d slow to set up for a turn, I’d slide right up every time. Granted a part of that is the material they use vs the OEM material is “slicker” with my Roadcrafter. It wasn’t horrible once I got used to it but annoying nonetheless.
I’ve reached out to Sargent and my contact there said they had heard similar from others already and to give him a week and he might have a solution. I’m in agreement with another that if they add 1/2” to the front, it will be much better, creating a pocket of sorts.

    Here’s a picture of mine.

  5. I've done my morning research and like usual, RMATV had the best price.  I've bought quite a few sets from them. I almost accidentally bought two sets with my internet being wonky this morning.

@texscottyd I've run many sets of PR2's in the past and loved them.  Then the Angel GT's came out and I loved those on my Triumphs since Pirelli came out with them.  I've heard quite a bit of good about the PR5's on the Tracer so I think they'll be good for my aggressive riding style.
