Looks very nice and premium-like...and the comfort verdict is...?Firmer than the Seat Concepts I had. Haven't ridden on it yet. I expect it will be as acceptable as other Sargent seats I've had.

Put my newly upgraded forks back on the bike. Andreani, installed by David Behrend at Fast Bike Industries. Still waiting for my Ohlins shock.

I had similar Chinese knock-offs on my RC8R. They were every bit as good as the Pazzo levers I had on another bike.

Took the forks off and boxed them up for shipment to FBI in Asheville, where David Behrend will work his magic on them. He's also setting up an Ohlins shock with remote preload adjuster for me.

Worked on the FJ's new home.

Well, I haven't done anything to the FJ in a while, but I'm doing something for the FJ and other toys that will reside in it. Started construction on a new garage. This is in addition to the 2-car attached garage that we already have. Looking forward to having some work space and a place to keep tools and toys. Also looking forward to finally being able to park our cars in the original attached garage!

Looks good. The Renthals look like they might be a bit narrower overall than the stockers. Are they? Also, how's the pull-back? I'm looking for some bars that have a little more sweep than the stock setup.

Yesterday: Removed the SW Motech crash guards and replaced with GIVI guards. The GIVI pieces offer engine case protection where the SW Motech do not. After seeing the carnage suffered by other members without some kind of engine case protection, I decided to step it up. The GIVI units also provide more options for mounting highway pegs and aux lighting. The SW Motech bars will be in the for-sale section soon.

Been there recently on the FJ too! Small world! I'd be up for a meet sometime. It will have to be a little later though. I'm recovering from hernia repair surgery and there's no bike riding happening for me for a while.

I'm right down the road from there myself, in Eustis. Only seen one other FJ around here, a Matte Grey one on 441 a few weeks ago.Might have been me. I live in DeLand, but I bought my bike at Champions Powersports in Eustis.

I use the same filter with the welded nut, makes life much easier in the end! I'll make sure that when hospice eventually arrives, they will bring a K&N filter to make life easier in the end.

There's no valve. The tank and fuel line have quick connectors. Once you release the fuel line connector from the tank, no fuel will leak from the fitting on the tank. A little fuel will spill from the line, however. Just be ready with a rag to sop it up. There's not much. No need to drain the tank.

filtering through stationery traffic on the way to work when the car I was alongside got fed up and decided to take a side road...... Straight into the side of me. Flipped me off the bike. I spent 40 minutes in the ambulance but I'm fine. Just very sore and have whiplash and a sore back. Bikes all damaged down the left side. Well, that sucks. Hope you get the bike back into shape soon.

Don't worry, I don't think he was referring to you. I think he was referring to this post: Quite interesting. As a musician, it makes me want to do this mod as a subtle wink to music. Just a tiny bit. It still goes against my policy of advertising for free though. And, I'd have to explain it to everyone except for you.You wouldn't have to explain it to me. :-) I don't know if they still do it, but the Yamaha pro audio (studio recording stuff) web site used to feature gear (casual clothing and other items) that you could buy with nice designs. I much preferred them to the motorcycle related stuff. I still have a few and wear them occasionally. Edit: It appears that they still do sell the stuff. I use the K&N oil filters. They come with a 17mm nut welded to the end. Makes removal easy!

While not exclusively for the FJ, but certainly will be utilized with the FJ, I ordered a new Go Pro Hero 4 Black today. Been eying them for a while and finally bit the bullet. I already have a Hero HD with WiFi backpack and remote, so I should be able to control and sync both cameras with the remote and do some multi-camera stuff. Cool toy.

I've always liked Madstad windshields and have had them on a couple of past bikes, but I worried that the FJ's handguards might hit it at full lock. Do they?

Changed the oil and switched to Amsoil 10W40 full synthetic at 2,100 miles in preparation for my ride to Ohio and back with a few days in Asheville thrown in. Guess I'll find out what all the hoopla is about with this stuff, having never used Amsoil before.

It couldn't be easier. Some have said that you can remove the instrument cluster to get at the connections, but I removed the windshield and it's mounting plate to access them. Couple of plastic pop rivets to remove the cover around the location where the new socket will reside. Easy. Once you start, you'll figure it out.
