@betoney linked it up for you. It’s a carbon treatment, so not specifically an injector cleaner. You can run it as strong as 1oz per gallon if you wish, just change the oil after this “shock treatment”.
I have no personal experience with Seafoam but the interwebs peeps rave about it.
... And ???? Was it off?

What I would call cyl 3 was off by 5 clicks on the meter I was using. Other one (in this case #1) wasn’t too bad. So I’m thinking I’ll run a fuel injector cleaner and then the Ring Free then do the oil. Sorry it’s been a while to answer. I have an uncle 1.5 hours from home that I’ve been going to see. He’s now in hospice as of yesterday.

For what it's worth I have had Ivan's flashes on a lot of my bikes and my last bike was a Ninja 1000 that still had the Cat, etc. Bike ran perfect and had no issues as Ivan said it would when I asked. Not sure if there is any issue at all on your bike because other then the vibes it runs good correct? Another thing to check for the Vibes issue is the torque on the motor mount bolts.
Was running great. I’ll look into the bolts.

Have you considered putting on an exhaust and eliminating the Cat? The bike may run better overall. Combine that with a TB sync I think.
Not really what I want to do at this point. Did the sync yesterday.

If the injector is sticky, yes. And contrary to popular belief there is a small amount of some kind of stabilized fueling stuff in the tank from the factory. Bikes are typically run through the gears when built (not redlined on a dyno as some believe...)
That shmutz was in there for an extended period of time on the sales floor before it was sold. So yes, try some quality injector cleaner and replace the spark plugs. Throw some Ring-free plus in there for good measure.
warranty won’t usually cover a sticking injector but you can ask your dealer. You can still swap them around and see if bike running changes too if you want.

You can also electronically test them in DIAG mode to see if they "click" on demand. Was the bike sitting for a period of time with bad/stale fuel? Because otherwise they shouldn't be plugged-up.
Warranties are tricky b/c repairs won't be paid for until it's proven that a failure has occurred.

It was a left over but I don’t think they would have let it sit with fuel. I did not let it sit with bad fuel this off season. But why would it need to necessarily be plugged up to be “broken”. Could it be letting too much fuel and that be the cause of the smell?
I agree though. The repair and getting warranty to cover is going to be tricky for sure.

So Ivan really went through some things as best he could over the phone. If there aren't any bad sensors, and because one of my plugs had a brown color and the other two did not, he thinks there could be a bad fuel injector. Of course it would be a bit of a job to figure that out, and I did purchase the extended warranty which will be tricky apparently. The bad injector would probably explain the smell and the rougher ride. The throttle bodies were not in sync. What I'd call 1&2 were good, but 3 was not very close. I'll report back when I have a chance to ride it. I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat. haha

Yes. However you should check those to make sure there isn’t a pin hole-leak in them they tear easily.

Anyone have a part number for these little guys? Not showing in service manual. Standing here in local shop and they can't find them either.
They don't have them and have no answers. What is a good replacement? One has a small crack.

Is it normal to have the middle cylinder the one with the white painted screw? The videos I've watched were all one side or the other.

Its hard to diagnose roughness over the internet.
I know Ivan gets further into the ECU than most other tuners. He claimed to have adjusted ignition timing and gear dependent fuel and timing maps on my Bolt, so I assume he does similar on his other flashes. I would imagine that retarding or advancing the timing could add to some perceived roughness. Perhaps sync the throttle bodies and see if the "roughness" gets any better. This engine does have a little bit of a vibe/roughness through the mid range under load (hard to put into words). Nothing that has ever bothered me but definitely more so than a 4 cylinder would.
I would assume the smell is related to the bike running in a more rich condition while still having a catalytic converter installed.
How does the throttle feel? Smoother in terms of on/off, etc.? How does the power feel more/less? Most have a generally positive reaction to an ECU flash... so...
Lastly, if it continues to bother you, I would just tell him to return it to stock settings and either run it stock or use 2wheeldynoworks or flashed by vcyclenut.
I will start with a sync. I suppose a not so prefect spark plug could also be possible? Might as well check while I'm in there.

A richer fuel mixture can eventually cause issues with the catalytic converter from what I understand. However I had Ivan flash my ECU (2019 GT, completely stock) over 10,000 miles ago and have no issues.
Do you have the smell?
-
Everything else is stock. Smell is basically at any stop since the breeze can't move it away as much I guess.
It was definitely a result of the flash. No other changes made. I did call him once and discussed the smell at least. He claimed no one else had complained. However someone in another thread said they had it.
I have not synced throttle bodies.
I will research but wanting to see if I'm just being paranoid about the roughness. I'm not imagining the smell.

Could the Ivan ecu flash have already caused a rough engine? Initially I thought everything was smoother. Smooth to the point that I figured the speedo was completely jacked up somehow. The smell does bother me. Not necessarily the smell itself but it gives me that feeling that something isn't right. I don't know how to describe it but it's a cross between an electrical and gas but kind of foul. Some have mentioned that it's a signal that it's running rich from the flash. I emailed 2WDW about whether their flash causes that type of smell. Response below.
No, with the stock exhaust in place our custom mapping does not cause an overly rich "fuel" smell from the exhaust system. Over time, that CAN result in the failure and clogging of the catalytic converter. However what has me even more concerned is that I think there is more engine vibration than before. I have probably only 500 miles on it since the flash. I hopped on fjray tracer the other day and I thought it was smoother and possibly even quicker than mine. (We were both in std). Went on the highway today and at 75 it's giving a good amount of vibration to the bars. I don't remember that to be the case. Any opinions? This is a 2019 GT with almost 7000 miles. -

Very interesting. How did you cut it to get such good clean lines?
I would also like to know how those cuts were made @deejay20005@gmail.

Did the same thing this time last year with a 19 GT! You're going to love it.

So I made the hole bigger, and then also spaced the top portion with the half inch spacers to give it a slightly more forward tilt. The result is less noise, and less buffeting however I think it’s still not good enough for long highway riding. It would make a nice track day screen though. I’m very tempted to make the vent on my Puig. I have other priorities at the moment.

I’m jealous of almost everyone else on here, but you blue ridge people should have your own thread so we don’t have to hear about how good it is. 😛

They were looking for people to "build" their own and sold out within a few days time. I also heard that one might be able to demo it at the road America moto America event coming soon. I think I'm going to try to get up there...not for the R7, but if there isn't a crazy line I might try it out.

I plan to experiment with mine soon by cutting a “cal-sci” vent in the middle of it.

I know it’s possible to send back to Ivan to put it back to stock, but I assume I’m out the money too. If I found someone who wanted the flash, could we swap ecu’s and both run fine or is the ecu tagged somehow to my specific bike? I probably shouldn’t have delved into this arena of flashing without understanding enough about it.

Well my uncle passed away Friday morning so the experimenting has been limited. I’ll throw this one out there. You know how there might be a smell when you’ve just lubed the chain and it’s getting cooked on the engine for the first few times? Could a change in lube product completely change that smell? I don’t think that’s it bc I would think it would go away after a few rides and especially since I switched to the drier maxima chain wax.
